Changing Dress for Reception

Changing Dress for Reception

I was checking out the Brides Review page and I noticed some people (more than I thought) changed their dress when they went into the reception.

Is anyone planning on doing this/has done this?

I love the idea I just didn't know that people still did that. I would love to hear what people have to say about it!

I can understand that- but I like the idea of changing into something more comfortable- I am not a big wedding dress person.

I feel the same way..but I also like the idea of a 2nd dress. So I'll be wearing a 2nd dress for my after party.

I originally thought of buying a more modern sexier dress for the reception but recently decided against it. I thought to myself what if i love my dress so much that i dont want to change? I dont want to waist my money on a 2nd dress than never wear it.

I'm changing for the reception. FH is Indian so I want to change into an Indian outfit during the reception for him. I will change in the middle of the reception. I want our first dance photo's to be with me in my wedding dress.

I'm worried I will not want to change because I love my dress, but I also love my Indian outfit and I'm dying to wear it.

I kinda like the drama of a change...I think short bridal gowns are really cute....so it's a chance to wear one.

I am definitely not getting a 2nd dress. If I'm going through all this stress to find THE Dress, I'm wearing it as long as possible.

I love the idea. I would do this if I could afford it...one dress will be enough for me.

I am doing this for the last hour of the reception, and after party! For our after party we're doing the video game Rock Band 2 set up like karaoke, and we're doing a big entrance/performance to kick off the party. I'm the band drummer so I need to be able to play!! Can't play in my huge a.ss ballgown! Also we are doing a surprise Tango dance, and I will have the short dress for that. Here it is, I got it from Sarah Seven

I was going to but then my mother talked me out of it saying why bother looking for a perfect dress just to change right out of it after the ceremony. So i saw her point and agreed.

But if i was having an afterparty which im not cuz were leaving for honeymoon that night, i would def change.

I did for my wedding. I can't tell you how comfortable it was to slip out of my strapless ballgown after the ceremony. I wore an Issac Mizrahi strapless sateen sheath dress (back buttons) in opal cream with a brown silk faille sash for the reception. It looked gorgeous. I felt beautiful in it. It fit like a glove. I was so glad that I did it b/c not only was I able to walk around but I danced the night awayI would def recommend the experience esp if you have a ballgown or poufy gown with a long train. Plus it gives you a different look for the reception since a lot of brides are donning shorter hemmed/cocktail dresses for the reception.

i'm going to change into a second short dress towards the end so that I'd be able to dance in it freely.
