Changing dresses...

Changing dresses...

I have two dresses. I fell in love with a dress that I didn't think was appropriate for the church so I bought another one for the church and to take pictures in. Originally I thought that I would just leave the cocktail hour early, change, and then surprise FH before we walk into the reception. Now I'm thinking I should wear the first dress during my first dance and then change. If I did this would I just happen to walk into the reception and everyone see me, or do I need to do a grand entrance. This would affect a lot of things. My hairstylist was going to change my hair and head piece and my makeup artist was going to change my makeup and make it bolder... What's everyone's opinion? Should I change before the first dance or after? And how do I enter the room after I change? I always loved my reception dress because it is different and the manager at macys said I am still the only one who has bought it, but now I am starting to LOVE my church dress just as much... Please help!!!!

well you'd lose a LOT of time if you changed in the middle of your reception. id change before you walked in. problem is..not everyone is going to be at the church so you lose that shock value.

i would wear the dress that you love more..think about your first dance as husband and wife...how do you picture it?? more traditional? or more modern with that other dress? how do you see your hair and accessories??

this is def a toughie! I think I'd want my first dress as husband and wife to be the dress i was married in...and then change after...not sure how you make an entrance though.

If you are going to change dresses I would definitely do it between the CH and Reception. This way you get to make an entrance.

I have two dress too. I am getting married at the RH. I will walk into the reception with the first dress and the first dance will be in the 1st dress. I am not changing my make up or hair. After we finish eating DH and I walk out on a fast song and change into the 2nd dress. I will pick a song so will know that's when I need to change. Since I am a dancer people will see the dress on the dance floor. I hope this helps.
