Changing into flats
Have any of you married ladies changed into flats for your reception? How did that work out with the dress? Did you have your dress hemmed to heels or flats?I've got about a 1.5 inch difference between my reception shoes and my ceremony shoes. I love my ceremony shoes, but know I can't wear 3.5 inch heels the whole time, so I bought 2 inch wedge platforms. I'm not concerned about the bottom of the dress getting dirty, I just don't want to trip over it.

Changing into flats
Im probably going to get wedge flip flops to change into. Im not too worried about the bottom of my dress getting dirty because even if I do wear it again it will be for a TTD shoot so it really wont matter anyway. Plus youll be having it cleaned afterwords so what difference does it make?ETA: Ha I just saw the part about tripping.. I dont have any suggestions for that lolol

Was there a height difference? Did you have any problems?

Re: Changing into flats
I changed into shoes which were about .5 inches shorter. Unfortunately it was enough for it to drag minimally...as my Dad and I were walking out to the dance floor for the father/daughter dance, my Dad actually ended up stepping on the bottom, and ripping the bustle out. Based on that experience I would say if they aren't exactly the same height, I would hem it to the shorter height.

Changing into flats
I'm taller than my groom, so I am having some custom flats made by an etsy seller (will post pics when done) and will wear them for the ceremony and reception. Problem solved! :)

Changing into flats
Changed into flats and it was fine. My dress was hemmed basing on my heel height which was about 2 inches. I'm glad I changed it made me comfortable to move around all night.

Thanks for sharing! I have heard so many brides tell me that their bustle kept ripping when they changed. But I've also heard that they had so much fun that it didn't matter. I am going to look into lower heels though. I'm concerned about such a big difference between my two shoes.
