It is going to be hard i won't lie... my dad had all girls so the name stops here

we're all girls too. as of now i'm keeping mine - I don't see the need to officially change it for a while. I'm going to let myself get used to the idea; socially i'll use it but not at work. so i don't think i'm changing any documents.

I am not going to change mine. I work under my maiden name and will not change it professionally because of the kind of work that I am in.

I also find the name changing quite offensive (personally).

But I'm afraid that his family won't approve.

Anyway, if anyone calls me by his last name, I won't mind at all! They can call me Mrs. His Last Name all they want, I just dont wan't to legally change it.

I think for our kids they will be First name (MY LAST NAME AS MIDDLE NAME, AT LEAST FOR THE GIRLS, ) his last name. That's what my parents did with me and I like it.

i like the way you think; i don't find it offensive though just annoying and somewhat unneccessary but it's traditional and i like that... i also don't love his last name which is part of it, plus i love my name and have had it for 30 years and there already is a Mrs. ____ - his mom.

I have been having a problem with this subject from day one! I love my last name and dont want to give it up! so i said i would either hyphenaite or put my last name as a second middle name, that way i dont always sign with the a hyphenation and just use it when i want.....but i dont know whats better...im sooo confused!
