My last name is a mouthful, no one call spell it or pronounce it, and its kinda odd and really German...

so that means...

It is going to be hard i won't lie... my dad had all girls so the name stops here

we're all girls too. as of now i'm keeping mine - I don't see the need to officially change it for a while. I'm going to let myself get used to the idea; socially i'll use it but not at work. so i don't think i'm changing any documents.

my last name also stops i want to hyphenate ..Fh not such a fan though

How in the world did you manage this? I am seriously impressed date twin!

Any tips on how I could get my fh to take mine?

I'm keeping my own. So is he unfortunately. I wish he would take mine.

ETA: Sorry...just read the explanation. Still really impressed.

FH is cool with me keeping my name. His reason being that he wouldn't want to change his, and he'd never ask me to do something he wouldn't do himself. I can't really complain. He did ask that I don't hyphenate though. He hates the hyphen.

Yeah I wanted to take his, but hey I wont argue.
Its funny because he made a bench for me one day (to put in front of our house) and he put G.M. and my last name (our last name b/c we got married in city hall (for immigration purposes)) & anytime someone comes by theyre so confused. lol. my grandma came by and shes like why does it say 'my last name' and not 'FH last name' lol
its going to be so cute when they announce us at the RH when we have the grand entrance :)

keeping mine but adding his like an extra last name NO HYPHEN. I work w/in a huge bureaucray which would make it difficult to find me if not. I will use it everywhere else but at work. Plus...I kind of feel weird about giving up my name (which has been part of me for soooo long) in order to marry FH, but not saying its wrong for anyone else, just my view

I'm taking his... I'm very excited!! Plus it will be nice to have a last name that everyone can pronounce, Miller! No one can ever pronounce my last name right now and it gets really annoying...

FH's mom's maiden name was miller... but her married name is just as simple. I really like my last name and don't really want to change it but I want to have the same name as FH... so I probably will.

FH took my last name once in The Sims. My Sim had a much nicer house so he moved in with me and it made him take my last name. his roommate gave him crap for it but i didnt mind

Im taking his...but Im gonna have his last name -hyphen- my madien last name. (Instead of vice versa) This is pretty traditional in some Latin American culture,most women have 2 last names.

OMG!!!! You GO GIRL!!

I'm changing mine to his.. I adore my last name.. but he's swears his entire family would consider it a disrespect if I didn't change it (old fashioned folks) and get this.. even if i hyphenated it!!
