Changing out of wedding dress

Original post by abc7077

Ok, I know this is a stupid question but are you all leaving the reception hall in your dress to go to the hotel? We do not have limos since the reception and cermony are both at the same place. We are not sure whether we are going back to our home to stay the night of the wedding or to a hotel. We are not leaving on our honeymoon right away. Would you leave in your wedding dress and walk into a hotel at 2 in the morning on a sat night or change before you go?? I know, this is a strange question!!!!

I wore mine back to the hotel but then changed in the room and went downstairs to meet some friends in the bar.

I never thought about changing out of my wedding dress....it was funny though cause when I got to the check-in desk...I was thinking - I'm still in my dress and veil -- don't they think that's weird Guess they see this stuff all the time.
Good luck!

In Ireland it used to be traditional for the bride and groom to chnage into a 'going away' outfit at the end of the wedding. I am not sure if it is still traditional or not not, but I want to - especially since we are continuing the party later
