Changing pic

Changing pic

So I know some of you have had this problem before....I can't change my profile pic and chat avatar pic. I deleted it first then upload it. What am I doing wrong???

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to show up after you changed it!

Last night it was showing a different picture for you, but now its back to showing your old picture, very weird

I found it worked when i deleted all the privacy/browsing history/cookies from my browser (like if you go up to tools, i think) my new pic came up.. maybe you can try that?

I think it was b/c at work I didn't log out and log back in. At home, it worked.

If you keep hitting F5 to refresh--usually you'll eventually see the new pic.

What happens is that when you load LIW on your computer....many times your computer will store up a lot of the same images on your systems 'cache' memory. That way it doesn't have to keep sending a request to the LIW server to DL images, therefore making it faster for the page to load. So if its not sending a new request for the images, you will continue to see the same pic as your avatar, even after you change it. Once you change your pic--it DOES change, but if your computer's cache memory isn't being 'refreshed' then you will continue to see the old image on your computer. It won't 'change' on your end until your server sends a new request to LIW for the correct image, which is usually what happens when you hit F5 or 'refresh'.

You can always manually delete your cache memory, but if you don't know how to do that---just keep hitting F5 or wait a day or two and it will change.
