As of Friday - we are officially going to be changing our destination wedding. My sister (MOH) found out that she is due with her fourth child on June 1st, just 4 days after my wedding. No this wasn't done on purpose or anything. I have talked it over with FH, and I told him that I just wouldn't feel right getting married without her there. Due to the circumstances of the contract, we have just moved the date out three months to the first weekend in September (we dont have an official date yet).
My question to you - we had JUST sent out all the STDs and informal RSVPs because we were originally told by her dr that it would be the end of June, not the beginning. Should we be sending out new STDs? FH said no, and that we would just do it by word of mouth, but I'm thinking of making new ones (I made the others) and putting them in with the Christmas cards and I will send them out right after Thanksgiving.
Suggestions?

Re: Changing the Date....What would you do??
If the date has definitely changed, you can just let them know by word of mouth. If you feel not everyone will remember this, then I would do just a small note to eveyone that the date changed.
Things happen, so don't sweat it. If you send the note with the new date, then you'll know you covered all your bases.

I would not be comfortable w/ word of mouth. If you made the last ones, then do it again. JMO. But you could just stick a business card in the X-Mas card stating you 'changed the date'. Something simple.

I know it stinks ot buy all the stuff to make new ones....Maybe your sister could help you make them since you're being so accomodating to her!!!! You're a good sister!!!! XOXOXO Kitty

I would probably make the calls as well as send out new ones -- just to be on the safe side.

Re: Changing the Date....What would you do??
I would do another std just in case, because with word of mouth you might not get to everyone and it might cause confusion. on the new one, try to state that this is the revised date and i think it'll be fine

What I would do....As soon as you get your new official date, send out new STD's. I wouldn't suggest doing it by 'word of mouth'. That way, all your guests are on the same page.

If you are sending out xmas cards either way....I would either re-do them, or note in the cards that you are changing the date. But if it is a completely separate mailing ....I wouldn't bother...

Re: Changing the Date....What would you do??
I have to say, since it is a destination wedding, i Would re-do them... i know it *****, but you would hate for people to book the wrong date for their flight and/or hotel...
If you're mailing out christmas cards, etc. perhaps you could just make little cards or something that would be easier than the orginals...
Sorry you have to worry about this, but at least it's for a very happy event!
