We realized after a lot of thought that the place we originally booked was just TOOOOO much
Now we're back to the drawing board - crazy right?
So, I was thinking about the Glen Cove Mansion
Does ne one have any info on?

Re: Cancelled wedding
You should change your topic subject line to 'Changing wedding location' ... My heart sank when I saw that.

Re: Cancelled wedding
The Glen Cove Mansion is pretty expensive, if you are looking to cut costs. Sorry, you had to cancel your place, but you will find something and better to do it now before you are stuck in a bad situation.

Re: Cancelled wedding
Sorry you have to change your venue!!
I had to change my wedding date unfortunately so I can kind of sympathize. But if you are looking to cut some costs I know Glen Cove Mansion is pretty pricey!! Not sure what price range you are looking for.
If you give us some info we will definitely be able to help you!!!!!

Well I'm willng to cut down my list - and make it a smaller wedding
I guess you could call me a snobby bride - I just dont want to have it somewhere that I do not LOVEEEEE
I just spoke w/ GCM and they quoted me at $150 w/ guarantee of 120ppl - Friday night I didnt think that was TOO bad...I'm assuming my fiancee could chew them down a little bit

oh no i wasnt insiting you are a snobby bride...everyone has their budgets and prices!!! I guess I just know Glen Cove is pricey for some people including myself. So when I think of changing venues because of price I think cheaper than my hall now. But for GCM I dont think $150 is too bad.

Re: Changing Wedding Location
Sorry you have to change your venue but I'm sure it'll all work out in the end. There's so many amazing halls out there and I'm sure you can find one just as great for a little less money and in the end you'll be happy you saved!

Re: Changing Wedding Location
I had a holiday party at Tribeca Rooftop. I can imagine how it could be totally $$$$. I never even considered getting married in Manhattan; too $$ and a PIA to plan.
June is high season so it will be pricey - if you like GCM maybe also try Bourne, Coindre Hall but I'm sure those will be pricey too. My place wasn't too bad (Riviera) it's on the south shore and north shore is WAY more $$$

Re: Changing Wedding Location
I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend, but Sand Castle's rates I think are pretty reasonable. I havent heard from anyone else on what they are paying for Sand Castle but I am definitely paying alot less than the quotes i was getting from the Venetian and the NHPInn

Re: Changing Wedding Location
Also, I never went to the GCM but i was thinking of them a few months ago and reading reviews. They had good reviews for the weddings, but they had bad reviews for guests staying there. Basically the comments read that they cater to the wedding parties and not to the other guests. So I guess thats good if your wedding is there but then i dont recommend you stay there overnight or have your guests use their accomodations either... google their reviews.
