Does anyone one know if you can just add FH's name onto yours rather than changing, hyphenating, or getting rid of your middle name. So basically, a person who currently has a 1st, middle, and last name would then have 1st, middle, maiden, married name??

Re: changing your name
you can, but not as part of the automatic name change process with a ny marriage license. i wanted that option, but it's not one of their four random options

lol I know what you mean. I think to do that legally you would have to go to court and change your name to that though...one of my friends wanted to do that and the SS office told her she had to go to court to change it.

Re: changing your name
i talked to HR about this a few weeks ago. you will have to change your tax forms and such for legal reasons if you change your name, but our office (and many i know) will let you leave your old name on things co-workers see - like your email address, phone directory, etc.

Re: changing your name
now that you mention the court thing--I think I remember my friend having to go to court to change her last name to her middle name and then take her husband's last name. Has anyone done this court thing? What do you have to actually do there?
