He would have it NO other way. I'm going to have a hard time with this because I love my last name. I think it's real unique and his last name is SOOO COMMON. Oh well

Nope. I've been me all my life, why change now? Actually, I find the concept a little bizarre......

Re: Changing your name??
I'm thinking about it...a question for the ladies who aren't changing it...if you think you will have kids, what will their last names be if their parents have different last names? Just curious...I'm been trying to figure that one out.

Yeah, I am going to change my name...believe it or not. Everyone thinks I am crazy to give up my name Jennifer Lopez. I figure it has not gotten me anything or anywhere at this point so what's the difference. I know also, he would be very disappointed if I didn't.

Re: Changing your name??
I think I am going to add his last name to mine and move my last name to my middle name and drop my current middle name. This way I don't have to hyphenate (sp?), but then I can have both names.

Re: Changing your name??
I will be hyphenating for the first few years (so that business associates know who I am) and then maybe I will take his name only in a few years. My children will take his (he has asked for this because he wants it to be easy to keep family geneaology records)

Re: Changing your name??
yes, but not at work. I have been in my profession too long to have confusion with clients, etc., so i will stay the same there, but will use his name everywhere else (still in the process of filling out DMV forms!)

Re: Changing your name??
I will be. It will be quite awkward at first, I'm so used to having a short last name (5 letters)... his is like 8... But I'm definitely doing it!

Re: Changing your name??
I am not that thrilled with my last name and I know it would mean so much to him to change it. So, I'm taking his name.

I kept my name at work and go by his socially. All my paper work has both names on it.

I have the same exact problem! I would love to just keep my name or even combine our last names to form an entirely new one, but because it's so important to him, I'll just do it.
