Channel 2 (CBS) tomorrow!

Tomorrow at 11pm Channel 2 is doing a special on food at reception places - good and bad. I guess they are going to cover good and bad health regulation reception places - and one of mine is being covered (Crest Hollow). They also showed Four Seasons and Tavern on the Green on the preview. I don't know who else they will cover - just thought I would let some brides know about it.

OH NO! I hope mine is not one of the bad ones, watch it be the worst and you are bound to get sick if you eat there. However, I have heard great things about the Crest Hollow - oh well, too late now.

Re: Channel 2 (CBS) tomorrow!

I vaguely remembered hearing something about food poisoning at Crest Hollow last summer, so I searched the web for any record of a problem. This was the only thing I found, on a Kosher web site.
Food Poisoning Hits Kosher Establishment
Woodbury, L.I…Nassau County Health officials are investigating a case of food poisoning late last month at a wedding on Long Island. Eleven people complained of nausea and shortness of breath after they ate a fish dinner at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. All had symptoms of Scombroid food poisoning, which includes flushing, red eyes, itchiness and rash, Dr. David Ackman of the Nassau Health Department told WCBS 880's Holli Haerr. The country club told CBS 2 that it was a kosher wedding and that all the cooking was under rabbinical supervision, adding that after nearly 50 years in business, it has never had a problem before.

I wouldn't worry about it though, it's the only thing I found, and like the snippet says, the only problem in nearly 50 years of business. I'm anxious to see the news report though.

Re: Channel 2 (CBS) tomorrow!

Thanks for the post about the food poisoning. My FI said he is going to freak out if anything comes up bad. He said he will march right in there the next day and start discuss the problem. I am not very worried - what can I really do now.

Nothing could be worse than the kitchen in McDonalds and people eat that everyday.

Don't worry if they say bad things about your reception hall in their report...

Look at it this way...after the report it will probably be safest place to eat!!!

the way i see it bad things can always happen - as long as its not on your day - don't even bother stressing over it....

with that said though - if they mention jericho terrace, can someone tell me?? (LOL! - such a hypocrite i am - it sure is easier to give advice than take it you know???!!)

Re: Channel 2 (CBS) tomorrow!

There was a food poisoning incident at the Crest Hollow that is true it was the week before my friend's wedding. That is all that they are probably going to mention about Crest Hollow. They have been in business for too many years to have anything major to worry about. I think we would have heard about it, if there were more. Last summer's incident was on the news and in the papers. ( I am trying to be optomisitic here and if they mention East Wind please let me know in case I am sleeping)

OMG THAT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.

I would freak if 2 weeks before my wedding everyone found out my hall had crappy food!

Crest Hollow has good food.
