Charter Buses

We are having many out of town guests and are very interested in hiring charter buses or vans or something to get everyone where they need to be in regards to the Mass and the reception and back again. The limo companies are all trying to push their 'party buses', which total anywhere from $1000-1500. We are looking for something much cheaper and they do not have to be affiliated with a limo company. Any ideas? FH went to a wedding upstate where they chartered a school bus....

another bride just did the same.. perhaps she will see and post it for you.. where is your reception??Try calling this number.. I saw them one time chartering people at some event and FH made me take down the number just in case.. 718-966-8186

also check out the transportation vendors like Express Coach and Ultra I think.. they have prices onlines I believe..

I am using Coach. It is about $600 for 6 hours. We called many bus companies and they were all in the similar range. There may be a couple cheaper but they were booked for my date. I can't remember the other places we called (this was on FI's to do list). I know a while ago (a couple months maybe) someone posted a lot of the research they did. It was very helpful to me. I think Peter Pan was on the list.

Also, try local cab/taxi companies. I found a couple that had small airport shuttles and they allow you to pay per person. We almost did that but none that we called would give us a contract until a month before. We didn't like that.

Im using Peter Pan.
The buses are coming at 4:30 (after the reception) taking all the guests to Harrison House in Glen Cove and then at 12:30 am taking anyone that needs to get back to Manhattan to the Grand Hyatt.

For 8 hours in January, it was $350.
I got a luxury coach for my bridal party but it only holds 25 people for almost 3 times the price.
The Peter Pan Coach is 55 passengers and I figured since they're a large company the buses will be well maintained.
