If I were you, I'd try to have one of our parents call, preferably a stern one, I know my FFIL like sto shake things up without being an ***... he gets places to accomodate his requests all the time... sometimes if they hear an 'adult' start to get annoyed, they're more accomodating.

It's not really freebies, they'll just reallocate the money you're spending... so if you're paying for 5 plates they don't have to make, they're getting that money for nothing unless they give you something else...they'll add a chafing dish to cocktail hour, or wine on the tables, it's not even always equal to the money they'r emaking but it's better than paying for nothing... IDK why they're giving Kim such a hard time

Legit question... just as a courtesy since they're taking your money and they don't HAVE to provide you with anyhting for it. Again, the things they'll throw in as a courtesy generally don't completely make up for the money you're giving them for plates they're not serving, so they're still making profit... but it's a nice thing for them to do since you ARE spending a ton of money anyway

Well, they don't HAVE to but it's really good business to do so.
The RH STILL gets paid for the minimum amount of people that it's contracted for.
But say if you are 10 people short, they don't have to prepare 10 meals, service for 10, setting up for 10, etc.
So it's appreciated if they throw in an extra station for the guests who ARE there. They are not losing any money because they get paid for the people, regardless. The cost of a chocolate fountain is probably no where CLOSE to say 10 people who don't show. But its just nice for the bride and groom to get SOMETHING
