Chateau La Mer

I`m planning on getting married sometime next spring, preferably a Saturday night reception. I`ve just begun to look at a couple of reception sites. A coworker recommended Chateau La Mer out in Lindenhurst, but before I make an apppointment to go out there I would like to know if anyone is having their wedding reception there or has been a guest at a wedding there. I`m interested to know about price per person, as well as the food, service and if they have outdoor grounds for pictures. I`m interested in knowing the pros and cons. Thanks!

I am having my wedding there on June 30th, 2001. The pros - they would accomodate a small wedding with gtd. of only 60 people in a room that holds 150; great views of Great South Bay, nice menu selection - I talked to about 10 brides who had weddings there & said food was very good; outdoor cocktail hour with boat for your arrival; price was $70.00 per person plus 17% and 8.25% for afternoon reception. Cons - the rugs on the floor are old and worn (hopefully they are scheduled for replacement this June), no garden area for photos like the Swan Club has, flowers on tables not included in price. For my small wedding in the summer, it was a perfect place for me. I am going to a park for my formal photos, so I will have both garden and water backgrounds. Jen

Alyssa, I am getting married at the Chateau La Mer on July 7, 2001. Jennifer pretty much captured all the aspects of a pro/con situation at their facility. There really isn't much grounds on the property..so I will be taking photos elsewhere also. But other than that, it was the perfect place for me. Hope this helps.
