I had my engagement party there in April 2003 and I have to say that I was AMAZED at how great the service was. I didn't have to ask for a thing. My guests LOVED the food. I can only say good things about this place.

I've been to both and to me there is no comparison... Chateau La Mer is much brighter and I just love it... I dunno what room you are having at Chateau Briand but we were in a long rectangular room and you had to walk across the dance floor everytime you went somewhere... Food was good, but I just love Chateau La Mer :) LOL... good luck deciding!

I was actually very close to considering Chateau La Mer, but it was just a little too 'out of the way' based on where our ceremony was being held. Its SO PRETTY there and I've heard nothing but nice things about the food and service. And I'm a sucker for a water view myself, it was one of the big 'draws' for me
BUT Chateau Briand also has a great reputation .. Scotto Bros. are wonderful.
You really canont go wrong with either place!
