Chateau La Mer? Other venues?

Original post by StarIzInkd

I actually got engaged 2 years ago and we are only NOW able to get serious and pick the date and start shopping. I fell in love with Chateau La Mer over a year ago. They are a bit over our price point but after all this time it looks like that is where we should go. However, looking to see what prices people got and if there are any other recommendations in that area or anything WEST of it for under $100/pp.. we have decided we will do a Friday night instead of Saturday but refuse to do a Sunday. ALso looking at either October or doing a xmasy wedding in November-early December.. price difference from Oct to later I would hope? Any info you guys can send me or PM I would greatly appreciate! :)

Checkout The Riviera in Massapequa. They would def fsll in your price range and its right on the water like CLM. It does have a different feel, bjt its one wedding at a time which is nice. Its worth a look!

They're definitely under $100pp++. Not sure how much lower, but they actually came in less expensive than what we're paying now. I just didn't like the dark wood interior. It looked like it needed to be well lit even on a sunny day.

This being said, the food is great, and the cakes were great too. The woman we met with even threw in a free chocolate fountain for us. We just found a place that was more conducive to our needs.

$110/pp PLUS ADMINISTRATIVE AND Gratuity plus tax... WHAT!?!? This was for the last few days in November. I feel like I just got rippppppeddd... Next.. :(

Seriously???! When we went there a month ago it was less than that for a Friday or Saturday night in September/October. We met with Mary. You could try negotiating.. But that's if you even like the place that much anyways. I'll try to think of other places to suggest.

I'm just incredibly let down and kind of done. adding extra fees and quoted your top rate for a Friday in November.. ugh.. spoke to Samantha at Bridgeview and she said the 150 minimum is not negotiable :( So yeah.. I give up.

You were quoted 110 at riviera? We were quoted WAY under that for July 2017.

Timber point is very nice. We went there and loved it... It was our number 1 until I went to the thatched cottage. Meet with Neil, he throws in things for free ;)

Why don't you do a Sunday at chateau la mer? It will most likely be in your budget. I know a lot of people don't like doing Sundays but if it ends at a reasonable time you will be fine. The people who matter will be there for u know matter what day it is. you have to do whats best for you! Mine ends at ten.
