I actually got engaged 2 years ago and we are only NOW able to get serious and pick the date and start shopping. I fell in love with Chateau La Mer over a year ago. They are a bit over our price point but after all this time it looks like that is where we should go. However, looking to see what prices people got and if there are any other recommendations in that area or anything WEST of it for under $100/pp.. we have decided we will do a Friday night instead of Saturday but refuse to do a Sunday. ALso looking at either October or doing a xmasy wedding in November-early December.. price difference from Oct to later I would hope? Any info you guys can send me or PM I would greatly appreciate! :)

Chateau la mer is beautiful! I can't help you with prices because we're having a Sunday evening wedding & are so happy with that decision. Robert the banquet mgr is excellent to work with! Try and get in contact with him.

The Metropolitan is $85pp++ for a Friday or Saturday, but that was March prices. I'm not sure about October-December. It could be around $100pp++ at that point.

Checkout The Riviera in Massapequa. They would def fsll in your price range and its right on the water like CLM. It does have a different feel, bjt its one wedding at a time which is nice. Its worth a look!

They're definitely under $100pp++. Not sure how much lower, but they actually came in less expensive than what we're paying now. I just didn't like the dark wood interior. It looked like it needed to be well lit even on a sunny day.
This being said, the food is great, and the cakes were great too. The woman we met with even threw in a free chocolate fountain for us. We just found a place that was more conducive to our needs.

omg if you are thinking of an xmas wedding check out the milleridge cottage!!! the inn, cottage, and village are decorated beautifully for christmas! And they are in your price range. The inn is smaller, but the cottage holds over 350 people in the ballroom and it's one wedding at a time. It is just so gorgeous around that time. I went to look at it last december and almost switched our date to the winter because of how beautiful it looks.
You must check it out, you'll love it!

Bridgeview Yacht Club is under $100, 1 wedding at a time and if you search it the reviews are always amazing. I fell in love 2 steps in the door

Thank you guys. I used to go to Milleridge allll the time when I was a kid at Christmas time and it was my fav place. I went to the bridal show last weekend though and after not being there in 15 + years- it's not the way I remembered it being and the prices I was quoted over the phone were just much more than I felt they were worth :/ Bridgeview I was in love with online and when I called, they never responded. I called again and got a grumpy woman who in a snotty manner told me their minimum was 150 ppl. She didn't seem to want to waste her time so I didn't either. I've been getting discouraged. I can't afford more than 100 people and def. not more than $100/ pp. There do have to be nice places in this range though right? I thought once we get past October that rates would even go down but so far it seems I am wrong. Keep the ideas coming though please! There may be something I haven't thought of or seen yet and plus I love hearing things about CHateau La Mer <3

oo i see- the milleridge was under 100pp but it was a 150 person min... I feel that alot of places that offer the lower pricing have a high minimum for how many people to guarantee..
The woodlands is nice, their person minimum might be more than 100 though. My boss was married at chateau la mer though and swears that it is the best on LI though. She said that after almost 10 years of marriage, people still tell her that it was the best wedding they have been to. Maybe chateau la mer is the place for you! :)

I'm having much less than 100 people and paying well below $100 pp. Check out Timber Point Mansion in Great River: one wedding at a time and I love the aesthetic of the place. I loved Chateau La Mer, but it was a little out of our budget.

I'm not sure who you spoke to at Bridgeview but if you decide to call again ask for Samantha, she is so sweet, I'm shocked you had that experience everyone I have spoken too have been helpful. I only had to guarantee 125 people for a Friday night.

I got engaged two years ago as well and we are just starting to plan for Oct. 2015.. so exciting, congrats!
Definitely check out the Riviera in Massapequa. It has a different feel than Chateau La Mer, (I happened to go to weddings at both places last summer and it's more rustic, I think), but it is also on the water and there is a beautiful area outside for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I will FM you quotes I had gotten for Sept. 2015.
Good luck!

We're having our wedding there in August which is prime season. We were told 150 minimum but told them that wouldn't happen so they bumped it down to 125 minimum. If you were doing a winter/x-masy wedding they would prob go down lower. Doesn't hurt to ask. And I agree, contact Samantha. She is so sweet.

I completely agree. Call and ask for Samantha directly. She is the best of the best!
also if you liked Chateau la mer, you would also probably like Venetian Yacht Club.

I know you don't want to go too far east, but you should check out Lombardi's on the Bay. It is right on the water and the ballroom is beautiful. I am pretty sure the minimum for a Friday wedding is 100. Not sure about winter pricing.

We chose CLM. After checking out a bunch of other places. CLM had a decent price range and was less than others on the water. We chose a Friday night and we got our date RIGHT before the 'prime' wedding season. We had the food tasting there and it was awesome. Plus they have been updating a lot of things there too. Good luck with whatever you choose!
