Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hi girls...we went by last night for some small details and saw a beautiful e-party going on...got our direction maps, set up our final meeting for menu/cakes, seating, and looked at some cakes...I think we'll be able to work with what they have in the included package (we both have ideas but don't need it to be an exact certain way). Made us SOOO excited for our day!!! The new tableclothes look great too!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Jean,
That's so exciting. I'm wondering, if you know, what is standard in the package for the cakes. My FI wants a special filling and I wonder if Black Forest Bakery will charge more. I hope not.

Good luck!

And, Happy Early Birthdays Jen and Jennie.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

It says in the website, tiered cake with your choice of filling, so I guess that means it is included.

We just went with what was included - I was not interested in spending more money at that point. I liked the cake - but seeing certain people's later on, I did have some thoughts that maybe I should have upgraded. But there was nothing wrong with my cake and it tasted good.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Michal-- did you check out Villa Bella at all? I know Vanessa had a difficult time with Black Forrest so she went there instead... Maybe we'll try both and see who will give us more or at least what we want!!

What kinds of fillings could you choose from?

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hello again Ladies and Happy birthdays!

I paid an extra $400 for my cake at Black Forest. Definitely not worth it. I don't even know how it tasted...it's sitting in my freezer. I found Villa Bella hard to deal with because of their so so English and at the time things were hectic and I didn't have the time to deal with them.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Oh, I got my proofs back. There are about 1000 of them on the photo labs website, so I just picked a few and put them in Shutterfly. They say 'copyright' on them because we actually got real proofs in albumns without it, but I don't have a scanner. I'm going to wait to put them on the review board, but you guys deserve a preview. I tried to pick out some where you see a lot of CLM. So, if you're interested, enjoy!

PS Ceremony was upstairs, Reception in Atrium and Vieneese in Cocktail Room.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

They told us the choice of fillings and there was a ton to choose from....we won't upgrade since don't have our hearts set on something really specific, taste is more important than an fancy look to us!
