Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I just got back from a tasting at CLM and it was excellent. I'm so psyched to be getting married there. I also met Nick for the first time tonight because I have been working with Lou. Nick is so nice and was very helpful answering questions. I can't wait- I wish our wedding was this year!!!!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Hi ladies, I just read through this entire thread. We met with Nick last Thursday & absolutely love CLM. Turns out too that our new apt. is less than a mile away! We're going to the tasting w/ our folks on April 6, and cannot wait. If we book it would be July 15, 2006. It looked beautiful and Nick explained all the changes to the 'blue' room.Girls that were married there...did you get windblown on the yacht arrival?
Did you find that pictures taken in the rooms had a lot of 'flashes' off the windows & such?
Thanks ladies.
Cindy

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Nick said that the blue room is going to be totally renovated...new carpets, the blue is going to be a more muted color (like beige), new linens, more upscale.Re: the yacht arrival, I'm sure they could do that for you & your dad. We're not getting married there, so typically he said they take the bride/groom at the beginning of the cocktail hour (or a little before) & our photographer & they take you out about 50 feet. Then Nick announces the b&g are coming & everyone lines up by the deck & the yacht comes in. They also take a lot of nice pics out on the boat.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I think the yacht is more for you and your FH. I am getting married there and I think they take you out after the Ceremony, during cocktail as the other Cindy stated.I didn't know they were updating the CH room. I like it the way it is, actually, but I guess they'll make it even better.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Cindy-- where else are you looking besides CLM??I thought they were redoing the 'blue room'... anyone know when they're starting??
I think the yacht is also for after the ceremony (if it's there)... they actually walk you out to that parking lot pier right outside, put you on the yacht and drive you over. It's not far so I can't imagine you'd get TOO windblown!! I probably won't be able to do it since it will be cold and dark
I can't wait for the tasting!!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I looked at captian bills to and the people there were so rude to us. They hnanded us a menu and told us to go walk around the room... no one was with us and they were setting up for a wedding.. the BRIDE showed us and here we are in jeans and rain coats walking around her hall!!! I would have been SO PISSED.. so we decided CLM

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
I just got back from CLM, I finally saw it in person!!! I love it even more. Lou showed me around briefly, but I have a few questions. I am having my reception in the down stairs room on the left. What is the blue room to the right?? Is that the coctail hour room?? And my second question is where is the indoor cermony site if it rains?? I forgot to ask! Thanks.

The blue room is the cocktail hour room. I have no idea where the indoor ceremony would be... I would guess maybe in the reception room or if there's nobody in there, possibly the upstairs room? Glad to hear you loved it!

What I was told was that if it rained - which it did on my wedding day, but earlier on - so we still had our outside ceremony- ANYWAY - Nick told us if it rained - that the ceremony would be in the big downstairs room (where our reception was) and then when everyone went next door to the blue room for the cocktail hour, they would re-set up the room with all the tables for the wedding.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread
Katie, since you are early morning wedding like me, they might even put you in the upstairs room for ceremony. That is what they did with Krah5burn. Howver, they should have the new chapel ready by then, no? We'll have to ask about that chapel when we have our GTG.

Yes they give you book(s) of them....just ask when you get closer. We got ours when we were home in March, but have to do more detailed directions since we have a ton of OOT guests.
