Haven't seen a review yet, and I've been anxiously waiting for it! One of the girls who went to the wedding posted some pictures and said everything was very good. It was on the BHB board if you do a search. You can't really see anything about the place to well in the pics cause they were focused on the people and not the background, but the outside ceremony looked very nice!

I will have to look for it... thanks :)

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hi ladies,
I was thinking about something and I wondered if any of you noticed it or were concerned. I was looking at one of the girls pictures who got married at CLM this August, and in just about everyone of her indoor pictures there is a big flash. There are so many reflective surfaces--the windows, the glass, the marble--that there is a big spotlight (or two) around everyone's head. Did anyone else notice this??? With a digital camera, it's easier to rub the light out of the photo, but is it going to be a problem for film? Plus, that's a lot of work to go through every picture and fix. I didn't talk to my photographer yet, but it has me concerned. What do you think?

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

I didn't notice, but that should be part of the photogrpahers job on final prints to touch up. Proofs are usually not fixed- just fast prints... I would imagine anything used in albums or blown up would be fixed but ask your photographer!

Don't worry

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hey fellow CLM girls I have checked the website out it is awesome I love the re-modeling they did. Me and my FH are now deciding on whether to have our ceromony there or at a church?

If they would ever finish the CHAPEL so we can see how it looks.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hi Ladies,

Thanks Kra5hnburn, for bumping this up. Couldn't find the thread. :) Anyway, I'm looking at 2006 and I'm going to visit Chateau La Mer this weekend. Wish me luck. Any particular BM I should meet with. I've heard that Nick is good. I just read a fabulous review from Nessa79 that said Nick was awesome.

Thanks ladies. Wish me luck! :)

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Hey Ladies!

Just wanted to say hello. I just wanted to post a response to answer a question someone had about the centerpieces a while back. Today I was on my lunch break and stopped into Big Lots (Amityville shopping center) and I passed by something really pretty that I've seen in many bridal magazines for centerpieces on the table. (Hard to describe, but I'll try) It was a candle holder that held three different candles with glass around them. They were thre different sizes and they have ribbons hanging off of them. Gorgeous. I've seen them all over for like $60 a piece and big lots had them for $9.99. There was one that only held 1 candle and that one was only $3.99. YOu guys have to go check it out if you are in the area. I might go back and pick a few up. You definately can't beat that price!
P.S. Don't worry, they're not tacky or anything!

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Girls, I visited CLM today. OMG! So gorgeous and Nick pointed out even more of the renovations they will be doing. He said the indoor chapel will be created by year-end. But I really want the outdoor wedding. I loved everything about it. My FI didn't like that the outdoor chapel is right by the street and that we could potentially have cars and loud boats disrupting the ceremony. I'm still debating about that. I CAN'T BELIEVE all the food I get for the awesome quote he gave me. In fact, I might be able to do August given these great rates. Anyway, I mentioned all you LIW girls to Nick, which made him happy. I think it's down to Thatched Cottage and Chateau La Mer now. Just need to weigh the pros and cons. Thanks everyone.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Yeah, it's at 7pm. If anyone wants to go, I would just call your BM. lillian771, if I'm able to see Nick and talk to him, I'll ask when the next one will be so you can clear your schedule for it.

I'll let you know how it went ladies. My fiancee hasn't fallen in love with this place but I'm hoping the food will change his mind.

Re: Chateau la Mer Thread

Ladies, there is a food tasting every other Wednesday! Go Back. FH and I did after stopping in to drop a deposit and we were the only ones at our table and they brought out the full entree and dessert selection--they gave us all the leftovers and we had food for a week!

CHAPEL, CHAPEL, CHAPEL!!! WHERE IS MY CHAPEL!?!?!?!
