Who has seen both venues and what are your opinions?? Have you had any experiences at either venue (been to a wedding there, tasted the food, services, etc.) FH and I have seen the Venetian Yacht Club and we think we are in love but I really want to see Chateu too! We have an appt to see C.L.M. next Sunday and will probably make a deciscion soon after that. It's a close call as of right now so I just wanted to get other people's input!! Thanks! The date to our wedding is going to most likely be february of 2013...so I know season is important when considering the venue as well! :) thanks for all your help!

I've seen both and I would go with Venetian.. The water view is much nicer!

We went to Chateau La Mer & fell in love. Venetian was on our list for another day but as we spoke to more people they said the food was better at Chateau. We are foodies so we decided to go to Chateau and the tasting did not disappoint us. I would visit both. Good luck :)

I love both both and both of them have good food. The reason I chose CLM is because I am getting married outside and perfer CLM's outdoor area(the palm trees got me!) over Venetian. But if i were getting married in the winter I would prob have picked Venetian! HTH

Can't go wrong with Venetian! We fell in love and booked on the spot. My family has been to many weddings there and you cannot tear them away from the food at Cocktail Hour! They are still raving about the seafood boat. And Giulio, our catering manager (Samantha was our first but she just left for another position) is amazing and takes care of every little detail. I email him all the time because I'm such a nervous wreck and he always calms me down!

I love VYC! Guilio is our banquet manager and he is fabulous! My brother got married there 5 years ago and my family is still raving about all the food and the service. My other brother just got married at CLM in sept and it was very nice..but I am partial to Venetian. I don't think you can go wrong with either though. GL

Can't be of any help because I've been to neither place but good luck!! Booking the RH is such a HUGE check and makes it feel so official! lol..

We loved the VYC. We have been to a wedding at CLM and while I was fond of its outdoor area, VYC was roomier and more comfortable once inside, but of course, that depends on how many guests you have.

I looked at both as well and in my opinion clm is outdated in the lobby area, it doesn't have much of an entrance, and I liked the food much better at vyc.

We loved at both VYC and CLM. We went with VYC because we just liked the whole overall look better and I felt the view was better. I also felt VYC was willing to work with us a lot more and were not as pushy. I did like CLM outside better but were getting married in March and would not get to use it.

i have never been to VYC, but i had an appt with CLM and was so unhappy with them. The staff was not professional to us nor to the guests of the party that was taking place while we waited (we watched the coat check guy and one of the waiters maybe literally look up and down one of the guests and make a comment that you hear on the streets)...and while we sat there waiting we noticed how outdated and dirty their main entrance/lobby was

I got married at VYC 2 weeks in that nasty snow/rain mix. Anyways food was amazing, staff was great. Been to wedding at CLM food wasnt that great. There outside area was nice and service was ok.
I dealt with Eric at VYC, he went above and beyond for us. We had a photobooth at wedding and was just looking at the pics some of the staff jumped in it to funny. Good luck!!!

1) because the names was changed a few years ago, most people haven't heard of it and I think that's a good thing. Everyone and their mother has heard of Chateau Le Mer.
2) The view of the bridge is incredible. At Chateau, you see a little more of the parking lot.
3) Venetian is great for winter because you can't see if there is any snow outside, only water.
4) There are several parties at once at Chateau, where at Venetian it's usually only 1 other party.
However, I do like the round room and draped ceiling at Chateau. I also like the chandeliers. The outside is a little nicer, but not too much different. I would go with VYC. Price them both though.

I'd suggest Venetian Yacht Club. I thought the place was beautiful. I felt like you got a lot for your money and the staff was nice to deal with. If we didn't decide to go with Crestwood Manor we most likely were going to end up at Venetian Yacht Club.
Chateau La Mer was beautiful, but I got totally hung up on the palm trees. I couldn't stand the idea that there was going to be palm trees at my fall wedding. I even asked if they could move/remove them and they said they are real palm trees and they couldn't be moved. Then they treated me like I had 7 heads because I didn't like their palm trees. That was my worst bridezilla moment to date.

I would think they would die in the cold weather!! It would be strange to have palm trees in the fall !!!!

I had my e-party at chateau la mer and the food was awsome....looked at venetian for the wedding, but thought the room was too small for the amount of people we are having. The view at venetian is beautiful, but thats all I really know about the place. Im sure you cant go wrong with either.

I had actually narrowed my choices down to those two places and am going with CLM. Giulio at VYC told us he would work with us when we first met with him, and we were actually ready to book VYC, but when my dad called him to make an appointment, he didn't even call him back for days, then my dad had to keep calling, and they told him they wouldn't even go down one dollar or add one extra thing. Then we all went to a food tasting at Chateau, and not only was the food absolutely amazing, but Nick worked with us and gave us abt 10 dollars cheaper per person PLUS a ton of extra food. It was a much more pleasureable experience at CLM. I did like the ceremony area at VYC better, but it is not to be.
