please post your thoughts..they both seem nice. We will have approx 150 guest and a wedding at night, preferably. We'll be getting married there so the outside is important. Please let me know if you know anything about either place and the prices too.
Thanks, Val

Re: chateua Le Mer Vs. Riviera...
have you checked either one out yet?
ive been to both. Well at the riviera i attended a wedding. CLM we checked out for the wedding but we have more guests than what the main room can hold but we did have our e-party there.
Both do have a nice outside. Riviera does CH outside and if the weather is great then you have a real nice outside area and also very large with many tables and right on the water. CLM also has an outside area they use for CH and also right on the water. When its nice out CH is half outside and half inside, it looks nice but not as many tables outside as riviera but you have room inside. Also at CLM you have the option of arriving on their yacht as your entrance while people are outside at the CH. If this interests you then that can be a plus
The inside: both have very different looks so it will all be about what type of wedding you are looking to have and which will best suit the style you are looking for. CLM has a dome ceiling for the downstairs room and large windows from ceiling to floor on half of the room. The riviera has more of that cozy feeling if you know what i mean. I am almost sure it has a fireplace, wood floors. For 150 youll fit perfectly at CLM and also at riviera. I liked riviera but there was one problem, if you have over 200 guests then quite a few tables wont really have a view of the dance floor or what is going on, the room is kind of L shaped so one side has a partial view and the tables against one wall have no view but of the tables in front of them, but with 150 ppl you wont have that problem.
The food was good at both places. I dont know riviera prices so cant comment on that but CLM does have amazing prices and even for summer months and on saturday nights. For may on a saturday night and this was including tax it was about $115 per person.
I have pics in my album from my eparty at CLM if you want to see. I have a few pics from riviera that ill post on here to give you somewhat of an idea. The ones post in this thread will be from Riviera
pic is of the outside during CH. I have other pics in another album, will post in a few
more riviera pics, outside ceremony if you choose to do that
second pics you get a better idea of the cozy feeling atmosphere. Brick walls with wood panel
If you have any questions feel free to FM me

I dont remember the exact price...i think CLM might be cheaper. I looked at both and I definatly liked CLM alot better. It was so much bigger and it was beautiful outside and inside.

CLM is lots of bright colors and big windows....

Re: chateua Le Mer Vs. Riviera...
How many guests are you having? I went to a wedding at Riveria which was gorgeous and food was great but there were 200 people there and the room was VERY tight! I think there was only 1 bar and we had to squeeze thru all the tables to get there. Also we were stuck in the corner (the L part) and could not see the dance floor for BP annoucements, cake cutting, etc. But I just got up and walked closer!
Cocktail hour outside was AMAZING at Riveria...one of the nicest settings I have ever witnessed for cocktail hour. I have never been to CLM so I cannot compare. Sorry!

Re: chateua Le Mer Vs. Riviera...
I have been to both places, not for any actual weddings, but just for wedding planning purposes.
The Riviera is $115 per person and has a 140 minimum (for a Saturday night in September 2009) , I think the banquet manager said it fits around 200 (maybe 220). It also includes Viennese Hour
For Friday night in September 2009, 120 minimum at $95 a person and for Saturday morning, 110 minimum at $87 per person. These do not include tax or tip.
It has a beautiful outside patio and Gaezbo, and has a really nice bar that curves around from the reception room to the cocktail room.
For Chateau La Mer, it is $120 per person (not sure of minimum or maximums. All i remember is that the entrance of bride and groom is done from a yacht.
Edit: Forgot to put in info about the food. We went in to taste their food, we thought it was very good (though not the best we have tasted in our three tastings). However, my mother went to 2 weddings there and absolutely loved the food and just thought the two weddings went perfectly.

Re: chateua Le Mer Vs. Riviera...
I looked at both and booked with the Riviera. I loved the cozy feel of the place and as for the yacht at CLM we are bringing our own boat to leave by They were pretty much the same price. We are having a Sunday afternoon wedding and only guaranteed 110 people.
