CHCC-Emerald Room

Hi ladies,

venue has been picked, and so has the room - Emerald Room. I like that it's different and has diret access to the outside area..

Now, my question is what kind of centerpieces go best in that room? low or high? any opinios or past brides that used this room? helllppp bc I'm going nuts trying to visulize...

Congrats. I am also a Crest Hollow Bride but I am using the Plaza Room. I am doing all high centerpieces but the room is alot bigger.

The Emerald Room is the one that is downstairs, right?

Congrats on booking! We almost went with Emerald room, we too liked that it was different but FH had a change of heart at the last minute and decided he'd rather the other room we liked so we went with Plaza.

Personally I would do low in that room. There is already a lot going on architecturally, so I think low centerpieces may look a bit more streamlined. JMO though.

yes that is the room downstairs...
You know, my FH loved the emerald from the min he saw it, I was between it and the plaza! too funny, i almost had a change of heart also but he wont back down lol...
low CP's? I definetely want candles incorporated..ive seen beautiful vasses with drowned flowers... i need to see pix of the room to have a better mental pic...

another Q, if you're getting married there ( I am) is your DJ providing the music?

yey another Crest Hollow girl!!! we are using the plaza also, but we flip flopped for a while between the plaza room and your room. i liked how the dance floor was outta the way of all the tables.

my only suggestion is maybe wait til 9/7 i heard there is another expo there and go back and look at the room again, maybe take a picture or two and the look at all their florists they have there and get a better idea.

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

Thank you for the input! and yes I'm def attending the 9/7 showcase..

I haven't met with any DJ's yet..I have a couple listed who I'd like to meet with. did any of you see variery music? I'm seeing them next wk. any input?

I originally wanted live music (violin) for ceremony, but I think if DJ can provide it and it sounds good, i can save extra $500 for that...

perhaps I should start another threat lol.. Music is very important, hence why I'm stressing the DJ so much. I cant stand corny numbers. I also need a variety of music, top 40, some oldies, little bit of latin, fun, get crowd going. do yo mind letting me know the names of your dj's and if you think their prices are reasonable?

THANK YOU LADIES :)

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

I am booked with Variety Music and I loved Ray. We were not looking for a Jersey Shore type DJ and we loved the vibe we got from Ray! We actually insisted that he be our MC for the wedding!

WE were thinking of getting live music but we decided that we could not justify spending the money. Ray actually made a good point think about the last wedding you were at... Do you remember whether there was live music for the ceremony or not. I know I do not!

But Variety does have live musicians available also if you want to add that on!

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

Variety was alos willing to work in your budget. We are getting DJ for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and we added zap photos as well!

i think there is actually a DJ thread somewhere on here.

I picked the Plaza room as well because of the view to the pool area. And I believe we may have cocktail hour in the emerald room.

I have a question regarding music for the ceremony. I was thinking about a violinist...is it usually around $500 and am i better off using my dj?

Any suggestions?

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

Live music for the ceremony is a personal opinion. For me it is not worth the extra $500. Everyone is going to be looking at me while I walk down the aisle that I doubt they will notice if the music is live for a DJ!

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

I got quoted @ $450 for violin and piano for ceremony only - once I meet with DJ and he can play for me the instrumental music I want, I'll make the decision.

I'm walkign down to chasing cars by snow patrol :)

Another thing, I'm having CH outside - I believe they do not allow music outside?

Any other DJ's?

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

Sharon told me hat they have a classical guitar player that they will allow at the outdoor cocktail hour but that is it. I never really followed up because we decided that we did not want to pay extra to have the cocktail hour outside and most likely it would not be warm enough anyway!

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

I am working with sharon as well and I believe its like an extra $2000 for cocktail hour outside right

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

I was quoted less than that but I booked about a year ago (prior to the last round of renovations) so the prices were lower. I also am getting married in April so the prices are different than wedding season anyway

We almost booked that room but ultimately went with the plaza/empire room. I LOVE the waterfall right outside!

Re: CHCC-Emerald Room

yes I believe price depends on time of year. I'm getting married in the summer, and I was quoted at less than that.

Plaza/Empire? the empire room is the big ballroom with no outside access..
