Hey girls. Just want to let you know that i went to go see the plaza room tonight (couldn't take any pics bc there was a CH that was about to start) and the dance floor and the carpet look great. AND the biggest suprise of ALL....................

THEY CAN SUPPLY UPLIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You will just have to talk to you BM to find out how much they charge for it!

Hope this makes all of the CHCC brides happy!

here is the response from my banquet manager regarding the renovations/uplighting:

Hi Lisa.
Good to hear from you.
You heard correctly. We are doing the rooms over and the Plaza was the first to benefit from this face lifting. By the middle of February we will have the three main dance floors all marble.
Up lighting is definitely doable. It is $600 to do it and it makes a world of difference in the room.
I would love to see you whenever you come. I would call first however, because if there is a party in the room when you are here, we cannot enter the room.
I hope all is well.

2012er crashing... Did you guy get the postcard that they are having a showcase at Crest Hollow on the 25th? I am going to go so I can see the new carpet and dance floor. I will try to take pics.

This price is great!! We were going to book it with our DJ...he wants 850 for it!! So we are def going with the CHCC for our uplighting!

just looking this over again because I am still confused about this uplighting business lol... I really want it, and I am in Grand Ballroom at CHCC. I understand they put uplighting in Plaza Room, but I want to know if they charged anyone extra to use it after they put it in or if they just turned them on for you for free? It seems really silly to me to pay hundreds of dollars if the room already has it in there.... if they add it to the Grand Ballroom by November, why charge $700 (that's what I was quoted by BM) to just flip a switch??? (unless there's more to it that I am unaware of)

i dropped off a payment yesterday and was able to check out the plaza room for myself.

the marble dance floor and carpet look AMAZING!

Uplighting is new and I heard about it here and not from him. So I called him to find out more information about it and he said that Uplighting is only done by the DJ. Yea it's a new enhancement but i called to ask about it after I read about it here and other BMs told others that it was available.

i emailed my BM directly and she told me it is available and it is $500 or $600 - i cant remember what she said now.

maybe things changed? who knows

My BM is Eric - I went to CHCC last month to see the renovations (which are gorgeous!) and he told me that the uplighting is available in the Plaza room

so weird. when I called Sharon a few weeks ago she said it was either $600 or $700 (cant remember) for uplighting to be supplied in grand ballroom... that's weird a BM would say a flat out NO... you can get anything if you give them $$$.... but I am now confused as to whether or not their rooms already have it or if they get it supplied from somewhere else??

Leo also said there was no way to do a tasting.. I think he just likes the basics and doesn't volunteer information about anything extras. I plan on going there Thursday to get my direction cards so I'm going to ask about the folder with all the extras. I called to receptionist to ask her if she could just mail it to me (another bride had it sent to her without her even asking), and the receptionist hesitated and said I needed to speak to Leo about it. I've spoken to other brides who have gotten things thrown in for free when they added extras or went way above their minimum, but none of these brides worked with Leo. Just interesting..
