Welp, one of my good friends and her boyfriend from georgia are attending my wedding. They got there plane tickets and when I gave them a bunch of different hotel options they almost died when I told them the prices. 150 + at most places. I know in georgia I have stayed at beautiful hotels for 40 and 50 bucks. They are staying for like 4 nights and just cant afford 150 a night.
I feel terrible and dont know what to do for them. I dont have a place for them to stay or I would of been more than willing to accomadate them.
Anyone know of any really cheap motels that are half way decent in Nassau? thanks

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
Wow! a decent motel in Nassau??? Gee, let me think. There are A LOT of hotels on Sunrise Hwy. in Rockville Center (Holiday Inn, Executive Hotel (or something like that)), but I'm not sure where is the most convenient for them. Also, Westbury. I would do a search on lycos.com. I think there is a Holiday Inn Express in Westbury on Old Country Road. I'm not sure how inexpensive they are, I'm not sure if you'll find a Motel that's decent, but you might have luck finding a cheaper hotel. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help! I will see what I can come up with and post again! Where is your reception? I may have a better idea if I knew where that was :o)

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
There are a couple of hotels in Bayside, Queens one is called Adria and the other is Anchor Motor Inn. They are both on Northern Blvd. THey may be a bit cheaper than Nassau, I think they run about $100. Give them a call.

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
How about the brand new Red Roof Inn by Roosevelt Field. They have online rates for about $89 a night.

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
Wow, I didn't even know there was a red roof inn by the mall! Here is a list of a few more:
Executive Inn (Woodbury) - 921-8500 Econo Lodge (Hicksville) - 433-3900 Roadway Inn (Plainview) - sorry forgot to write down the number
I did a search on Lycos.com, try that... it may help
Good luck with your searching.

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
there is a best western on sunrise highway in massapequa. i'd give them a call and see how much they want.
Best Western - Bar Harbour 5080 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa Park, New York, 11762 516-541-2004
there is also an Econo Lodge in hiscksville. never stayed there but it's worth a shot
there are a few other econo lodges out there too. go to www.econolodge.com and you'll see what i'm talking about.
best of luck with this one! i'm sure that you'll find something. also, another thought would be to have these friends stay with another friend of yours if they at least know eachother. that would save everyone a lot of $$$$. just a thought!

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
You should have them try Priceline. Friends of mine put in bids for $50 all the time and end up in great hotels. You can specify how many stars the hotel needs to be so you can gaurantee that where you end up will be halfway decent...

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
my fh's family is coming from Scotland. We could not find anything reasonable but nice on Long Island for 12 people for 4 nights.
They are now looking into specials for flight and hotel to stay in Manhattan. They have these all the time to get you to come to manahattan to shop for the weekend.
This way they get to see the city, and can take the Long Island RR to come to the Island.

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
What a coincidence
I am looking for hotels in different price ranges in the RVC area - here's what I got so far Holiday Inn $179 Diplomat Motor Inn $99 (I don't know what this place is like, so I am going to look at it on Saturday. I am also looking for CLEAN. If you forum mail me, I will let you know what I think it is like) Red Roof Inn - Westbury $ 109.99
Let us know if you find anywhere else that I could use Thanks

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
From the hotels that I looked at this weekend for blocking rooms, I was told the Red Roof Inn was $109 per night (for single person occupancy) and $114 (for double person). The Holiday Inn on Old Country Rd. is normally about $160 and the Wingate is about the same. You may be able to get a better price on these on some websites. Try these if you haven't already:
I blocked the Holiday Inn in Plainview for my wedding. It was $135/night regularly but $109 with the wedding room block price (blocking 10 or more - and you don't have to use all 10 to get the rate)!
Or you can request a paper one by calling 877-FUN-ON-LI

I would try priceline.com and cheaptickets.com
I'm sure there are other websites like these if you search

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
Ok.. I made calls and heres the outcome. The least expensive motel I found ( beside the raunchy hourly ones) in the area I'm looking was the Econo Lodge in Hicksville on Old country road. They was 70 bucks a night. Thanks so much for the replyies

Re: Cheap Clean Motels
Hi- Just wanted to throw in another suggestion. We blocked rooms at the Floral Park Motor Lodge - it's definitely CLEAN (or I wouldn't have blocked it ) and it is 109.00 + tax. That was the cheapest I could find close to my reception hall. Hope this helps!
