at our engagement party we received a check for 25$ from a couple!
FYI the cost per person was 60$
people, they aren't that great!
me too lol i am not expecting much from my family at all....im praying for ebough to cover the loan tho!! lol

not for nothing, maybe she wasn't the one who bought it. Just because you registered, doesn't mean all of your gifts will be from that store. I got a ton of stuff from bloomies and Macys that i didn't register for that were all nice items.
I totally agree, this happened alot, I saw a bunch of little things come off, but it was always paired with something, either a gift card or something that they just thought I would want.

maybe you have a relative or friend who has a loud mouth and can pass on your sentiments..
i totally understand your concerns, because we had an engagement party and it is customary in our culture to have an engagement party and give gifts/tokens to the bethrothed couple.. people didn't even bring a card..

Your wedding is not about getting money and gifts, that is the nice part. Maybe since they are a family a 5, they dont have a lot fo extra money to spend on gifts. I would be thankful that they sent something and appreciative that she took the time to call you. Its your wedding day...its about marriage and a life together, not about the kind of gifts you get. JMHO

true... it's about your union.. and i'd be thankful that they came and offered us their blessings..
but if a family is well off and shows off their wealth, it comes across as being stingy.. especially if i 'know' that they eyeballed my registry for the cheapest item.. o well..
