Cheap way to present place cards

Those little picture frames get costly - any other ideas for the place cards?

why not just the placecards that can stand on their own?

You know what - I just realized - the hall is giving me place cards... I should probably find out first what style they are - the kind that stand on their own or the kind that need to be put in a frame or other holder. Didn't think of that -- thanks... hopefully they stand on their own.

If the RH is providing the place cards you can just use the place cards. You don't neccessaraliy need place card holders. I hope that I helped you out.

i was going the placecard holder route then i realized after my friends and relatives told me they got them and most people left them on the table after everything was over it was kinda of a waste.

I mean do it if you have it in your budget but don't worry about it. I am doing a tray (wood tray stained) that i am filling up with some moss and having some clovers mixed in and putting the cards down in the moss (irish theme).

I have seen people put a flower piece like above and then have the cards spread out. Or do votive candles around them with some rose petals.

Just check out what the place cards from your receptions hall look like - I checked mine out and they were very cheap looking!

Most places provide place cards. I think about it this way. What will people remember about my wedding. Not my place cards unless i do something really spectacular. I might as well go with the place cards my RH provides and i can splurge elsewhere. That's what i keep telling myself

one LIW bride is giving tic tacs with personalized labels as part of her favor (toninmike, i think) and i'm thinking i may use the boxes of tic tacs as place cards and isntead of a persolized labe, i'll just put a label with the guest name and table #.
also oriental trading and bluerainbowdesign.com have them for 2 for $1.

The cards from most reception halls are cheap looking -- they generally have the logo of the hall on them.

You can get inexpensive plain ones from any Michaels or AC Moore, and they look a whole lot nicer!

Re: Cheap way to present place cards

my hall gave me place cards, but they're really ugly, and place cards in my cardstock color (butter) from Paper Source are pretty cheap--a pack of 50 is $7. I'm going to have my dad write out the names, he does calligraphy. So it's not going to cost me much, and it will look really pretty.

I saw a pretty idea in an old Martha Stewart--sorry, don't have a picture, but it might be on her website. She does have a lot of options on there, you should check it out. Anyway, she took long strips of cardstock, folded it with a bone folder into an accordion shape, punched holes in the edges and threaded narrow ribbon through it, and put the place cards on the sloping sides so they stood up. Looked lovely, and a great way to use all your wedding colors. She also has one using a bed of carnations, using egg cups, sand, grass...lots of options!

i used the placecards that my hall provided and sprinkled rose petals around them. i feel that placecards aren't something that guests pay a lot of attention to besides to locate their seats.

Not sure what your theme is going to be, but these are going to be ours. You can get a basketful(I think about 50) for $4.95 through oriental trading...
