1 hour 45 minutes to get to work...I had to take about 5 detours and drove through water on Southern State at exit 38 about 2 1/2 feet deep and almost had a heart attack thinking that my car is going to just die and I'm gonna be trapped.....half of 110 is closed off and/or in stand still traffic.
All this to get to work today at a FURNITURE store...who in their right mind will be buying furniture today??

I just spoke to my mom..... she said there was a Tornado in Sayville, and that Belmont Lake flooded onto Southern State..... and it is closed.
I heard the Tornado warning on the radio....who knew they actually use that American Broadcast System lol....yea exit 38-36 was REALLY bad!!!
lol... I know. My dad works right near Sayville in Ronkonkoma, he's okay, and my brother is working in Stonybrook today.... he does a lot of driving around for work though, but I think he's staying there for a while....

WOW very clever of you, i had to go buy clothes, and i do have a brush so had to brush it out bc i was a mess and dried it as much as i can with paper towels but still pretty wet, but neat though lol

No trains underground trains were running from queens into manhattan. Had to take a bus and walk. My boss said when I called it was like I was in a monsoon.

wow they really use that? i always thought since they didn't use it after 9/11 that it was some fake thing they would never use!

I was on the road for an hour and a half and only made it half way to school so I figured it wasn't worth it and I turned around and came home.
I take the Southern State to the Cross Island and I was on the Cross Island for over an hour and I only made it to the first exit!

Thank goodness I had my gym sneakers in my car - I changed as soon as I got to work!! But my hair looks like a giant frizz ball and my jeans are soaked up to my thighs! UGH

I think the warning was a false alarm however I was really freaked out when I heard it. It was really scary, there was a BIG flash/crash right in front of us. I think it hit one of the buildings, tho not sure and then they evacuated us from the area for about an hour.
Our Emergency Operations Center was activated and they're patrolling the area....its pouring out there.

My normal 30 min commute from lindenhurst to westbury took me an hour and a half. The roads are horrible. I should have stayed home...

I am so happy I work at night, and I got home before all this mess started, but my mother called me freaking out, there was an OCEAN leading up to Hempstead turnpike, she said people were jumping out of their cars before they were totally covered in water! I was expecting her to turn around and come back home.

oh no wet jeans are the worst sorry

Luckliy I got into work ok.....my train branch was not affected, but I know it was a mess out there. Glad to hear everyone got to where they were going this morning.
One mornings like today, it should be mandatory to stay inside.....oh wouldn't it be nice

i got to work fine...it just started downpouring...but when i got out i was soaked head to toe...30 min later our whole 1st floor was flooded with like a foot of water...and i spent the rest of the time drying off in the bathroom...about an hour and half later they told us to go home...so now im home!!!!
