Check out my ugly postage for the RSVP’s (those little envelopes cost more money because of the size) 58 cents for the RSVP envelopes (41 cents + a 17 cents surcharge) and they are NOTTTT even pretty! This is all they had to choose from!
Then the person at the post office says to me why did you buy such a small envelope ~ I told him that this is my RSVP for my wedding and they are usually on the small side i didnt have a choice of an envelope sizes....
I know some of you ladies have asked your post office about the wedding stamps I just was at the post office this morning and I was told the release date will be July 14 ~ So if your post office is June 27 or June 29 ~ get them right away! I think these stamps are going to be HOT item!
Also the post office says even hand stamped envelopes still will go through there machine unless it is an envelope that will have an object in the envelope (example keys etc)... this is just a heads up...
They charged you extra for the RSVP card??? We put the regular 41 cent stamp on the ones for my sister's wedding. We used the flag one.
FYI don't use the forver one, those are primarly meant to be kept and used when the postage price goes up again. If next year a stamp is 50 cents you get to use the forever one and not pay extra.

I didn't have to get more expensive stamps for my small RSVP envelopes. I just used regular postage. Maybe the person at the post office was mistaken. Did they weigh your envelope?

Yes they did ~ I was just there a little while ago... I was told 41 cents + 17 cents sucharge becase of the small size of the envelope.... This only went into effect with the new price increase that just happened.... and i did get the forever stamp it is fine it was the prettiest one they had! sooo i just took it!

That's sad when that's the 'prettiest' one. USPS should have thought of getting nice stamps before increasing it.

ok, I work in Jersey City now, so I'm going to try calling their post office......other than that, the one in my neighborhood (Howard Beach) told me to call on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday to check....AND they said if they have them available, that they'll hold some for me until I get home from work and I can pick them up!!! I told them I was worried about frantic brides stampeding the place!!!

I can't believe they added a surcharge to small envelopes. It sounds like this was targeted specificaly towards brides!

you know what dont even worry about it- they are just stamps -nobody even notices these things except us- remember we are own our worst critics im sure your invites look amazing even with goat stamps

i dont get it. i just got my 41 cent last week and they didnt charge me anything. i got the flag stamps. i would check again.

Mooshyboo, That is what we used to mail out our wedding invitations. The personalized stamp we used for the RSVP.
What I ended up saying was; Let the Ram bring us good luck!! Mooshyboo let the Ram bring you two good luck!!

Oh my goodness! I sent my invites out last week...but was told I only needed 41 cents for the RSVP card! I am flipping out! They didn't tell me anything about a surcharge and I spent 20 minutes with the woman at the post office! I hope my RSVP cards make it back to me!!

wait, so your not suppose to use the forever stamps on the RSVP cards? Thats what I used. I asked the woman at the USPS and she said thats ok to use.

That's weird. I just put the forever stamps on my RSVPs & they ALL came back to me...no problem (except the people who I had to hunt down...).
That's what my invites looked like...same ones. NO BIG DEAL: IT'S JUST POSTAGE....

Hey mooshyboo....what's your horoscope sign & FH's?? I just thought of it b/c my FH is an aries, and the ram is the symbol for Aries....so maybe that can be symbolic for you guys too?? I'm trying to make you feel better!
oh and I called the post office by my job, they said they'll have them by Wednesday!! yay!

i just used the forever stamp and mine have been coming back with no problem... i didnt add extra postage...
