Check out my ugly postage for the RSVP’s (those little envelopes cost more money because of the size) 58 cents for the RSVP envelopes (41 cents + a 17 cents surcharge) and they are NOTTTT even pretty! This is all they had to choose from!
Then the person at the post office says to me why did you buy such a small envelope ~ I told him that this is my RSVP for my wedding and they are usually on the small side i didnt have a choice of an envelope sizes....
I know some of you ladies have asked your post office about the wedding stamps I just was at the post office this morning and I was told the release date will be July 14 ~ So if your post office is June 27 or June 29 ~ get them right away! I think these stamps are going to be HOT item!
Also the post office says even hand stamped envelopes still will go through there machine unless it is an envelope that will have an object in the envelope (example keys etc)... this is just a heads up...

wait, so your not suppose to use the forever stamps on the RSVP cards? Thats what I used. I asked the woman at the USPS and she said thats ok to use.

no you can use the forever stamps ~ but they made me buy an additional 17 cents stamp ~ because there was an additional surchage because my envelope was small and not the typical envelope size...
I wouldnt worry ~ it seems like things change from post office to post office.... who knows ~ I don't even think the post office people know whats going on....

Mooshyboo, That is what we used to mail out our wedding invitations. The personalized stamp we used for the RSVP.
What I ended up saying was; Let the Ram bring us good luck!! Mooshyboo let the Ram bring you two good luck!!

its just postage... just remember that. people dont pay attention to the stamps. i never did when i got wedding invitations.
im not going to fret about mine, as i know they will probably be the good ol forever stamp...lol

Thanks ladies ~ I know stamps are the least of my worries! I just thought it was sooo funny! these two big stamps on this little envelope ~ I was thinking of doing the zazzle stamps & then I was thinking I would rather save that extra $$$$ & put it towards something else! So I was taking a poll and a family Birthday party saturday ~ to see if anyone really looks at the wedding stamp and the consensus of my family poll was NO one really notices the postage stamp...

You're totally right, nobody's going to notice except you so the much more important thing is that you LOVE your invitations because that's the part everyone's gonna hang on to!
But thinking about it, I'm wondering why the postal service thought anyone would enjoy a giant sheep on a stamp for any reason?

Also, they have $0.58 stamps... the new wedding stamps come out Friday. You can just wait and use those $0.58 stamps.

Dont worry about the ugly stamp-no one will notice it-Promise! As far as the higher cost-yes when they increased postage they made a minimum requirement for mail...if I remember correctly they have to be at least 3x5 and if they are 3x5 if costs more b/c the machines tend to suck them up...hence why I got many RSVPs back that looked like they were eaten

I put 2 liberty bells on mine...I love the liberty bells! They are so patriotic! Plus, they go with a 'neutral' scheme!
