If you look when he shows you the cards the second time with yours missing, they are a different bunch of cards.

The first time there was a King of Hearts, Jack of Clubs, King of spades and so on, but when he show you the second deck with yours missing, it is a whole different bunch of cards. None of them are the same he showed the first time.

Does that make sense?

The first time was the king of hearts, jack of clubs queen of diamonds queen of clubs and jack of diamonds

Second time was 5 cards queen of heart and spades, jack of diamonds and king of diamonds and spades.

They show you the second group fast and since you are only looking for your cards you will only see the colors of the others and it appears that your card is gone.
