I recently finalized the last of my big vendors - DJ, Florist, Limo - check, check, check!

But this weekend my bridesmaids and I went for their dresses and we got them!! Phew! I was nervous because they were NOT agreeing at first, but finally we found one they all loved and really looked flattering on all of their bodies. We also put together my Save the Dates so they'll go out this week. And FH and I finalized the guest list. Our modest 125 person wedding shot up to a 225 guest list real quick. I guess we'll be doing an A and B list!

I have to say about the bridesmaid dresses - definitely try Bridal Elegance. Surprisingly, they did have a different selection than all the other places we visited (Macys, Bridal Suite of Centereach, Paradise Bridal and Bridal Reflections), and the sales person was so nice. We told her our vision and she kept coming in the room with different samples to try. It was also $45 less expensive than the other places.

I'm very disappointed in Bridal Reflections Massapequa. The service was horrible, the sales person was miserable and it was a very unpleasant experience. I was surprised about that because I always hear good things.

that's the same dress i'm wearing for my friend's wedding but in a diff color!!! loooove it :) i also had a MISERABLE experience and sales consultant with bridal reflections. i was on a time crunch being out of state so i bought from them but really wish i hadn't! glad you took your business elsewhere.

Oh that's awesome! I really do like it. Yeah, they pretty much knew we were going to purchase elsewhere, they didn't even try to get us to buy anything.

wow you are only 8 months away! I am panicking about booking my major vendors other than reception hall like dj, limo and photog and 'm still 12+ months! you have just put me at ease :) and congrats!!!

Thanks! You have a ton of time! I only got engaged a year before my wedding date. My best friend got engaged 2 and a half years before her date and only started planning when I got engaged (about 8 months out.)

I was at Bridal Elegance and Bridal Reflections this weekend too. I went on Sunday, what day were you there? I actually had the exact opposite experience. At BE, the girl told us what fitting room we could use and then never spoke to us again. She didn't suggest anything and never even checked in to see how we were doing. It was awkward, when they were done trying on we just walked out. They never even offered to write down style numbers.
At Bridal Reflections (Massapequa), the girl wasn't the nicest to us (not mean tho or anything tho), but she did offer us a lot of suggestions. We ended up going with a dress that she picked out for us, so it worked out well.

Wow that's so funny. Exactly what you described for BE is what happened at Bridal Reflections. We went on Saturday. The person was sooo helpful and involved. She really is the reason why we purchased there. Congrats though on getting that check done!!! I hear Bridal Reflections has really great alterations too!
