checks, updates and a few showers pics
Hi everyone. I haven't been around lately, but I wanted to give an update where vendors are concerned, in case anyone is looking for reco's.
We mailed our invites TODAY! 'You Know Who' did an outstanding job. She far exceeded my expectations, and I had a Manhattan event planner tell me she's seen like invites for $25 each. If only I could have won one of her contests!
Had my first dress fitting at Wedding Atelier. My dress is gorgeous, Fresa by La Sposa, and the seamstress was very nice. I had a little bit of a meltdown, and the associates immediately put me at ease.
I'm also in a wedding in two weeks, and have been having dress fittings for a Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dress at My Daughter's Wedding in Great Neck. Yon is fantastic. The dresses are perfect, and she's even altered some undergarments for us.
Ordered DOJ from lulusplendor on Etsy. She is doing a custom version of earrings/bracelet for me. I can't wait to see them. Carla's been lovely.
Spent a good while trying on different veils at Bridal Veil Falls in NYC. Margaret, the owner/designer is VERY patient. I was there with my mom and FMIL, and she showed us tons of different things. I ended up ordering a combo of two different veils, so I didn't see exactly what I'll get. Mine will be ready before my next fitting.
Last, but not least, Saturday was my Bridal Shower. I knew when it was, but nothing else until my mom turned into the parking lot. My sisters and the bridesmaids created an INSANELY beautiful, Tiffany Diamond themed shower. It was in a private room at Jonathan's in New Hyde Park. The room was very pretty, the menu delicious, and the service very nice. Here is a link to some photos my sister (a 2011 bride) posted. She's a graphic designer (freelances!!)and did everything printed that you see. The scratch off game was a highlight for me, especially when I saw what a cute couple Jason Bateman and I make. lol. It was an amazing day. I'll post an album with some more pics, too, but hers shows the details.
