Chelseadog is married--vendor review

Got married July 20th just want to post vendor evaluations

Class One Limos Ronkonkoma --we had 4 limos altogether--they were spotless, well stocked, and arrived early-- the drivers couldn't have been more helpful--helped with train and helped calm us when we got frazzled, made sure we had all of our belongings I would definately recommend them

Miller Place Inn--we didn't hear one bad thing about this place but they changed hands a few weeks before my wedding--the food was excellent!! but the service wasn't the greatest----They were supposed to serve tropical drinks but didn't have enough people serving so everyone had to wait too long to get a drink--I had spoken to brides from this place and other places they said that the bridal attendent took care of the bride and groom and wedding party--made sure they had everything they wanted, reminded them when to do stuff, helped with the train and bustle, even interupted when someone was taking up too much of the bride and grooms time in an effort to keep them circulating and just helped things run smoothly. I didn't have this service. We didn't have all the selections of food upstairs in our cocktail hour. We had only about three choices of food, The guys had to go downstairs and get drinks for everyone. We had a shrimp and clam boat and had to ask to have some brought up to us.

Everything should have been set up for us. They should have even made sure we had the butler passed items there for us too. When MOH complained about lack of service the maitred' said the attendent was very busy and she had a lot of people to take care of. They knew how many people were in the wedding party (15) long before the wedding and if one person couldn't handle it they should have had two people. Just a reminder to everyone ask your caterer about the bridal attendent.

Flowers by Burton---This vendor also came highly recommended especially because they were so reasonably priced. Whenever we went in to choose flowers they always had a beautiful bouquet there over 2 dozen roses with a few other flowers hand tied with a pretty ribbon. The centerpieces (any style any flower) they showed us were full with about 40 flowers. I chose yellow and light pink roses with a few white cala lillies for the BM hand tied I even counted and told them I wanted about 2 dozen roses. Well they delivered bouquets with 3 calla lillies stuck in the middle of 11 very small roses. They looked horrible! The flowers for the church looked like funeral arrangements and the centerpieces were not full at all could have used about 10 more roses and had gigantic calla lillies sticking in the center. When I called to complain about the bouquets they sent someone out with more roses to add to the bouquets but it didn't help much. I was really disappointed. Many of my photos were without flowers.

Marco Photographer --don't know yet haven't seen proofs will review when we see them

Re: Chelseadog is married--vendor review

Congratulations! Best wishes for a happy and blessed marriage!!

Thanks so much for posting your reviews. It's so important to hear negatives as well as positives-and I'm sure everyone appreciates your honesty. It only helps us to prepare for our big day.

Sorry to hear about the glitches...I'm sure that, in perspective, they were minor and that your day was wonderful. The important thing is that when all is said and done, you are married to the man of your dreams and you have a long and wonderful life ahead of you.

Re: Chelseadog is married--vendor review

Thanks everyone! You are right they were just small things the day was wonderful and over before we knew it. We went on a faulous cruise to Italy, Spain, Monte Carlo, and Greece (Princess Cruises) I was anxious to come home and be a MRS.

Michele 31 I havn't called Burtons yet I guess I should but what can they do? Just make sure they have everything down in writing even the number of flowers you want. Maybe they will make up a centerpiece and a bouquet before so you can see it. I've heard of other places doing this.

Re: Chelseadog is married--vendor review

If nothing else the owner of Burtons should be told that you were unhappy. I think that is very important.
I am having a sample centerpiece and bouquet made before the wedding.
Was the BM bouquets just not as large as you wanted? I showed him exactly the size I wanted for all of the bouquets and he was fine with that. Do you think perhaps it was miscommunication? Was the quality of the flowers good?

Re: Chelseadog is married--vendor review

michele31 The roses in the girls bouquets were kind of small but there were only 11 of them with the calla lillies stuck in the middle. We told them we wanted very full bouquets even counted the flowers. The table centerpieces were the kind with three votives raised above flowers in little cups. They were supposed to be real full too with lots of pink and yellow roses and not much filler but they weren't. We were supposed to take the church flowers to the reception hall but they looked like they were left over from a funeral so we left them at the church. He didn't make us samples before the wedding. That was our mistake.

Congratulations and best wishes to you!

I would call Burtons and complain. They should compensate you in some way.

I'm glad you had a nice day!
