Has anyone ever had one? Is it worth the money? Is it very harsh? I have a few dark areas/scars on my face, will it help?
Any info at all would help!
TIA!

I get chemical peels from my dermatologist every 2 weeks. It is just my $12 copay. It is worth the money! It is not too harsh (a little stinging at the time, redness a day or so after). It definitely helps scars and dark areas, but you need it done more than once. FM me for my Dr. info, he is mid-Suffolk. Excellent dr. Never a wait. Love chemical peels.

Yeah, I have Empire, and I have no idea how it is covered! I am a little skeptical as to whether it is all legit how I get it covered, which is why I didn't post my dr.'s info. But my mom gets them every month too (also on Empire).

Re: Chemical Peels...
Wow...that is a little odd...in my derm office there are signs posted everywhere that say peels aren't covered by insurance...any insurance.
Hmmm...
And that is interesting that you go every 2 weeks...I don't know why I was under the impression that it was like a 1 time deal...or at least once in a while.
Thanks for the info!

Sometimes I go every 3 weeks, but it is definitely a gradual improvement. I didn't notice a great deal after the first time, but over the course of 4 mos. or so it is definitely better. Maybe some doctors use a much more powerful chemical? I wouldn't want much more though, because even this kind of stings.

Re: Chemical Peels...
I had peels done by Dr. Greenberg in woodbury - one every month - Obagi peels. Insurance did not cover. It was $150 per peel. My skin definitely felt and looked better.
But now I use the Loreal MicroDermadrasion at home kit - $23 - AWESOME! And there is a $3.00 coupon this week :)

There is an at home kit??? I have heard that name before but I guess just on commercials and I never thought twice about it. Please share! What do you have to do? Does it help with dark spots?

Re: Chemical Peels...
This is a difference between a chemical peel (which is really a type of plastic surgery) and glycolic peels. I got a bunch of glycolic peels before the wedding ($125 each). They make an enormous difference in how smooth, soft, and glowy your skin looks. However, it won't get rid of scars. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I have not gotten one since september and my skin looks really dull. I am dying to go back.
