Child care for out of town guests?
Hi everyone,We're having a little issue with some of our out of towns guests asking what WE'RE doing about child care. I realize that it's a lot to have people fly here, pay for a hotel and rent cars, but is that really our responsibility? Not only that, but how do we accommodate some out of town guests kids and not others? I don't really know of anyone that could watch these kids (or where they would watch them), so it would end up being a stranger to them. Anyone else having this issue? How did you handle it? I think we're just going to have to tell that there are too many children and we are not making any arrangements. If they can't make it, so be it!

WOW! In no way are you responsible for child care.If you would like to give them suggestions, call the local school and maybe the school guidance counselor can post a job listing. It would then be the parents responsiblity to contact the students and discuss pay, hours and location.

It is not your responsibility to worry about child care for your out of town guests. That is their responsibility and if they can't find it then they don't come. That's my feelings.

no way are you responsible.we dont have a lot of OOT-ers (who dont have friends in the area) but FSIL and FMIL are getting a sitter for the family's kids (for after ceremony) and it will probably be for in their hotel room.
maybe someone local with kids can help facilitate this and they can all split the cost? Ask around ?

Are you having an adult only reception? It gets tricky with OOT guests and their kiddos. I feel like if it's adults only, maybe you could hire someone to go to the hotel and watch the kids. If the kids are invited to the wedding then they're the parents responsibility. Also, the parents might be willing to chip in/pay for for childcare, but not know anyone in the area who is available. I mean we are going to an adult-only reception in Georgia in a few days and I don't know what I would do if I had kids. I don't know anyone down there except the bride and groom.

You are in no way responsible for aranging child care. However, be prepared for some people to say no if they cant find a babysitter. You could hire a babysitter and ask the parents to chip in but that will be an added expense.Welcome New Vendors
