Children not invited - how to proceed?

Children not invited - how to proceed?

I too will not be having children at my wedding. When I got engaged I sent the word out so everyone knew up front. Everyone was understanding so I recommend stating it and then making it clear on the invite by stating Mr. and Mrs. that should be clear enough.

Good luck.

Good luck in making this happen, and I would definitely be strong one way or the other. You can't make exceptions b/c one couple could not find a babysitter...etc. You ahve to be willing and able to deal with the fact that they may not be able to attend. Are you ready to deal with that?

I think adult reception is very acceptable. Also, on the envelope, be specific in listing the names of the people invited (not Smith family)

I did invite children and still had many parents call to make sure I really wanted them to come...

Good luck!

Hi Becky, We also ran into the same problem. My FMIL wanted us to put "Adult Reception" and my mother thought it's tacky and that the names on the envelopes should be specific. I agree with her and everyone has been spreading the word. If people do respond with their kids, then one of us will have to politely explain that it will be an adult only party. Good Luck!

Good luck!
