Re: children or no children
We're not. IMO wedding receptions are adult events.
At my brother's wedding, there were about 15 kids under the age of 12, they monopolized the dance floor (running in circles), and disrupted the reception. I didn't want this to happen at mine.

Thats exactly how I feel, we are not having any children!

We're having children. It turns out we're having just 4.
Us, too! I thought there would be more, but it's only going to be 4!

Re: children or no children
With the exception of our immediate cousins (only one of which is coming), there will be no children at our wedding. I was adamant about this from day one.

we were no no no kids right from the start. but then we changed our minds. and we are glad we did. we don't have neices or nephews yet, so its just cousins. the youngest will be 11 and the oldest is 21 (she is in the bp)

We did not invite children, but we are making exceptions for OOT family. I can't really expect my cousins or FH's cousins to leave thier toddlers in Texas or the Dominican Republic for the weekend!!!

Just a few kids, we dont have that many children in our family so it will only be about 5 kids

NO kids!! But FH's brother has already created a huge stink threatening to not come to wedding (and he is a groomsman!)

Re: children or no children
I guess I'll be the 'black sheep' here because I just can't imagine not having the kids there.
To begin with, 7 of them comprise my wedding party. There are also four others that are not in the bridal party but will be at the reception. They are such a big part of our lives, the day would not be complete if we couldn't share it with them.
My sisters were given the choice to include or not include the younger ones in the reception, so if they wanted to party, they have a babysitter who could take any or all of them. I left it up to them.
The youngest is 2 (he's not attending reception) and then they range in age from 5 to 16. All of them are responsible, well behaved children with parents who have no problem reigning them in if they get a little out of hand.
But they are still children and I expect them to have a good time, which means dancing and eating and taking part.
I am only paying $25. for any kid 12 or under, and that includes either a kid's menu or they can have what we're having. A small price for the joy of having these kids attend the biggest moment in our lives.

Re: children or no children
I had my two nephews and my husband invited his niece and nephew. That was it.
