chilren at the wedding?

Are you having children at your wedding? If so are they related to you?

Re: chilren at the wedding?

My flower girl who is 5 and FH's cousin who will be 9 next year. Other than that we aren't extending the invite to small children. I know some people are inviting kids especially if they have a lot of little cousins, nephews and nieces.

Re: chilren at the wedding?

Nope!
I took all 2nd cousins (kids of my cousins off list even though the oldest will be 22. Just easier bc no matter where we set cut off age, there would be 1 sibling and not others from each family so it didn't seem fair) But the 2 girls my mom babysat for since I was 12 were on my list bc they're practically like my mom's grandkids and I grew up with them. But my mom thinks it might be unfair if I have them and not my 2nd cousins bc they are same age.

Yup! My FH and I have 2 little girls who will be our flower girls. I also have my nephew(he will be almost 2) and niece(who will be 1) who will be there. My best friend has 3 kids who are all under 10. I also have a lot of teenage kids in my family.

We are having a Sunday afternoon wedding, so we are thinking that kids might be ok. We are still on the fence.

No children allowed except those in the BP which is only 2 right now. If I could send them home after the ceremony I would

Re: chilren at the wedding?

I only wanted children in the wedding party at the wedding. However, my mother feels like she can't tell my older cousins (my aunts children- her sister) that they can't bring their children so I'm going to allow them to come. Since they can bring their's I have to allow FH's cosuins to bring their children. I really do not want all these children at my wedding.

Re: chilren at the wedding?

I don't understand why people want to bring their kids to weddings in the first place. I personally do not think most weddings are events for children between the alcohol, selection of food, and late night (our reception goes till 1:30am). And, on top of that most RH's charge half the costs, pretty expensive for chicken fingers and apple juice if you ask me! That being said, my FH and his family are pretty gung ho about the kids in their family attending.

I decided to choose my battles with this one. So to be fair, I am inviting my cousins kids too but, they've all made it clear that they will be leaving them at home so they can enjoy the party rather than chase after their children all night. My nephew (ring bearer) and baby cousin (flower girl) are the only ones attending but will be picked up after the ceremony. Our other ring bearer, My FH's nephew (age 5), will be staying the entire night, along with the other kids on his side (ages 2-10). At least I won't be the one supervising lol.

I guess everyone is different and if the children are 'angels' that helps too lol.

Re: chilren at the wedding?

I have two nephews who will be two years old. My FH has one niece that will be a yr and half years old.

My cousins are in the wedding party and they both have two children each under 10.

MyFH wants to invite his cousin's children who are less than 10.

I'm afraid if I invite them and not my side that my family might be upset.

I'm not sure what to do. :(

Re: chilren at the wedding?

only kids are my nephew and FHs niece and nephew, because they are IN the wedding.

NO KIDS.. Sorry leave them at home for ONE night.

If you can find a sitter when you go out with your friends on a random weekend, you can find a sitter for my wedding
