Ours is Vera Wang by Wedgewood, the pattern is called Grosgrain...and the matching glasses....

i love those glasses and that pattern!! FI wouldnt let me go near the Vera Wang stuff!! My flat wear would match your glasses perfectly!!!

What flatwear do you have? We went with the Waterford Kilbarry, it looked nice together.

Why wouldn't FH let you go near it?? It's so pretty up close!

He thought it was too expensive

The Waterford Kilbarry you picked is beautiful! It was a close 2nd for us to the Vera Wang.

Oooh...I like those. Maybe I'll check them out..if the Waterford is discontinued liek they tell me, I think I want to pick out a new pattern.....

p.s. I had NO IDEA about the whole 18/10 or 18/8 stuff....we got home and my Mom was grilling me about it! 'Is it 18/10? 18/8???' I should have brought her with us...LOL

Re: China patterns....

they are called bayla (cellar brand)... on sale for $42 for the 20 piece set...they are getting discountinued... we bought the last 2 at smithaven and had the other set shipped from Roosevlet Field (shipping was pretty cheap) they had about 3 or four left at Roosevelt... there was a whole bunch at the herald square one... if you call the bridal registry department they should be able to go find them for you and ship them...

FMIL gave us the 18/10, 18/8, 18/0 speech before we left... but it's a good thing, otherwise we would have had no clue!! one of my friends who is getting married picked out beautiful silverwear but i noticed it was 18/0... so i explained her the difference... she had no clue about any of that either...so now she is changing her silverware also!

Ours is Tribeca by Lenox. I love it because it's simple.

Can you please explain this to me? I have no clue! I am assuming it has to with the amount of silver in the silverware?

Re: China patterns....

basically there are 3 'grades' of silverware... it has to do with how heavy they are and their quality... (and maybe how much silver there is in it???)

18/10 is the best
18/8 middle
18/0 lowest

i hope this helps... i was told that the 18/10 will hold up the best, where as 18/0 will wear down fast and won't hold up that long... it is also very light feeling...

hope this helps a bit!
