We registered for 16 pieces! We both have a big family.

So I would say go for 12.

originally did 8 everyday-ware, but switched it to 12 later on

Bari , Im not registering for china, ( i have) but I would still register for 12, what if down the line a plate breaks , & the line gets disscontinued ,,

My mom is a crazy Italian woman and bought my fine China years ago (I'm talking like way back while I was still in high school) so I won't be registering. It's service for 12.

I am going to register for every-day dishes (even though I already have them too) not sure how many pieces yet.

im not doing china.....but i still would do 12. Even if you dont get it...some places after your wedding will give you a % off if you dont get ALL your settings. Plus you may think you wont ever use it...but my family alone if they came over 8 isnt enough...and id be bummed if i wasnt able to match if i had a nice sit down dinner!

We did 12 I am one 6 kids, so that's 8 people in my immediate family alone.

we ordered 13 of both the good china and the everyday. just incase soemthing breaks we hav a back up. we always have huge sitdown dinners

unfortunately - just my family is WAY more than that so we would have to mix and match or something once we start taking holidays. . . but oh well i can't register for like 30 sets right? we usually have more than 30 for every holiday at my mom's!
