Chinese / American - Hispanic Wedding Ideas, anyone?

Ok, so FH is Chinese. His mother, grandmother, sister (BM) & Brother (GM) will attend. Probably a few of their friends. Older generation only listen to Chinese music. Younger generation were born & Raised in Long Island. FH was born in Hong Kong but been in Long Island since he was 3.

My family is true blue old fashioned hispanic. Most in Texas. Close family (dad, stepmonster, siblings) are in Iowa (don't ask). All speak spanish fluently except me and my siblings.

We want Chinese (red) wedding invitations to have english on one side and Chinese on the other.

Marchi Band? (very traditional) I'm kinda against. I mean I have no idea what they're saying!!!!

We will do a 'fall theme' for the wedding because my family is really more american indian than hispanic and seasonal changes are big time good things.

We are getting married around 11:30 am. cocktails from 12-1 and reception from 1-5.

DJ? or not? FH says he went to a wedding where it was music in the background but mostly just dinner and people mingling.

Any ideas?

PS: Bridal party includes the following: Bride - Light complexion Hispanic (My real mom's family is from spain directly, I got her coloring). Groom - Asian, MOH - African American, BM - Asian, Jr BM - Dark Hispanic, Best Man - Indian (India, not american), GM - Asian, Flower Girl - Indian, Ring Bear - SERIOUSLY white boy!! (my nephew hehe blond, blue eyes, stark white).

Wow - you have a lot of cultures going on. I would ask all your parents what is most important to them. Some ideas: (Know very little about Native American traditions other than a ceremony that was once on 'A Wedding Story')
FLOWERS & COLORS: What you were leaning towards will work out great but maybe if you added RED to it it would incorporate the CHinese wedding traditions a bit more. Could even put flowers in vases that are chinese takeout boxes. I have seen this before.
SIGN IN BOARD: A red cloth with a magic marker on a table - they did this at the Chinese wedding I went to - I think it is fairly common.
DRESSES: Hmm... are you going to wear an asian dress at some point.
FOOD: Definitely see if your place can incorporate the various foods in yoru cultures even if you just do a cocktail hour table or a dessert or a main course of each or something small.
TRADITIONS: Tea Ceremony during ceremony or at reception. Also, is the exchanging of coins Latin?
MUSIC: I think for a four hour party some type of music is in order. A dj is fun, but if your fiance isn't into you could hire some live musicians for at least part of it. I would post Stan Wiest on Venders Helping Brides for ideas - maybe. He might suggest a dj and one musician or something.

OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooohhh
Red cloth/marker is a great idea, thanks!!

We booked ourselves at Stewart Manor C.C. James there was REALLY helpful. He's going to try to get the chef to look into Chinatown version of DimSum. We will have chinese hor dourves (sp?) during the cocktail hour.

Believe it or not, I would love to do the red dress, but my FH is not hot on it. I mean I mentioned it and he just shrugged and looked away. I take that as a no. hehe.

Here's an in-law nightmare. I like my future Mom in law. She's alright. But now that I'm getting married it's been 'See Wai Yee (my F sis in law) we won't do 'that' we'll do this...' My future sis in law will have 'the' modern/traditional chinese wedding. Which is cool. I'm not even offended, moved or annoyed by that. I only feel bummed when she realizes I have WAY thought this stuff out before she has. I ask her for ideas and she's as bad as her son. Afterall in their tradition its MY family who pays and puts it together.

Too bad my family can't afford it, right?

But thanks for the ideas!!!!!!
