well i spoke to our catering hall about it and they said a few things that made us decide against it..number one was that they have one of the top brands of chocolate fountains and all they've had is problems with it..apparently it splatters on people and they have been paying for dry cleaning bills..lol so that turned me off..secondly they told us that people have actually been caught double dipping into the chocolate and that totally turned me off..i believe it too..some people could care less about that but that is nasty!!!!

YES! we are having it and cannot wait...we already saw and tasted it a few times at my halls showcases! YUMMY! plus it will be the talk of the wedding I'm sure if it...

I went to a wedding where they had it. I didn't see any problems with splashing, but I did notice some guys goofing around trying to put their finger in it. It is at the end of the night so I think drinking had a part in this. However, there was an 'attendant' there who put a quick stop to that!
We are scrimping on a few things to get one. The guests will be impressed, I know both sides of our families never even heard of them.

We're getting one from Audrey's Bakery and it will be staffed. FH and I have been in love with it ever since we got to experience it first hand at the LIW GTG. So, my vote is Yay!

I would get it BUT....
1. We are having lots of kids and lots of adults that act like kids at the wedding so I am not dealing with the fingers thing!!! That is so nasty and no one would touch it afterward
2. I am nervous about the splashing. I have witnessed it, it does happen. And, it is not pretty!

I would vote nay - My friend went to a wedding with one and said people were double dipping, and you have to remember if one guest is allergic to something dipped into the chocolate they could get very sick... If you do this in the winter you are asking for people to spread flu or colds if just one person coughs near it unlike a tray they can replace it is the same chocolate going thru it over and over

I'm doing it and hopefully the attendant will prevent double dipping... I have seen it, i've never heard of the splashing thing... It is too delicious to pass up!

I tried one out at a bridal showcase, and I only knew what it was by all the brown splash marks all over the table cloth!! I would be scared to go near it as a bride!!! BUT I do have to say that it sure was tasty! Chocolate and pretzels is one of my favorites!
I say try to see one in person to decide for yourself. I saw this one at a Watermill showcase (it was a great showcase! Great food!)
