Chocolate Covered Pretzels

I would like to make a large quantity of chocolate covered mini pretzels. (For favors at my sons Christening.)

Anyone know how to make them or have any tips on making a large quantity? What is a nice yummy chocolate to use?

I would be doing a little at a time.

THanks!

These are quite easy to make:

Purchase the mini pretzels from any grocery store, lightly salted or plain

The chocolate can be purchased from any candy store. I would recommend 'Ralph's Rotin's' located in Huntington and East Northport. But the chocolate can also be purchased at any Micheal's craft store.

Use a double boiler to melt down the chocolate until it is smooth. Then just add the pretzels and place on wax paper. Place then in refridgerator to chill, which hardens the chocolate. Then you have a final product- Chocolate covered Pretzels

You can always microwave the chocolate.. it's much easier than using a double boiler.. try some bulk candy on ebay

There is also a candy store on Wantagh Ave, in Wantagh... I think Candy Cottage or someting to that effect... they have TONS of different flavors/colors of cho.

Also, once my pretzles are coted in the first color of chocolate, and layed our on the wax paper, I use a second melted color and dirp (in lines) it accross, to create a design, which looks very pretty! (i did christmas red/gree ones on white chocolate for the holidays!)

I would advise that you use regular, non salted pretzels since the minis will be very hard to work with.
Just melt milk and/or dark choc. and dip the pretzels and using a fork to take them in and out of the choc is easier. Put the dipped pretzels on wax paper to dry for a bit. After you dip them all melt some blue and white choc. and using the fork drizzle those colors all over the milk and/or dark choc. pretzels. Let them dry and then put into tupperware or ziplock bags.

Oh, and to do large quanity invite a friend over to help And buy 2 bags more than you think you need because you cannot use broken pretzels
