CHOCOLATE FONDUE RENTAL?

CHOCOLATE FONDUE RENTAL?

So, I'm officially booked for my e-party!!

The place we are having it at does not offer desserts, so we are bringing our own. I was thinking of renting a chocolate fountain. Has anyone ever rented one? If so, can you recommend a place?

Thanks!

I've heard that it might be cheaper just to buy a chocolate fountain...I saw them the other day at Macy's for 99 dollars, then just buy the chocolate and things to dip at the grocery store. That way you can have the fountain to keep for the future if you entertain a lot. My friend did this and now uses her chocolate fountain all the time!

what a great idea!! I definitely will consider doing that if renting one is too expensive!!!

We are on a little bit of a budget, so my best friend is making my cake (she's a professional cake maker) and my mom and MIL are going to make traditional Greek desserts and we are going to have a mini-Viennese hour--SO excited!!!!

It all seems so real...I can't wait for December now!!

Re: CHOCOLATE FONDUE RENTAL?

my aunt bought a chocolate fountain (a smallish one, not an enormous one) for $45 on sale somewhere! My family used it for the holidays

I echo buying a cheap one, or buy one and resell it. Or borrow one from someone you know who has one?

I'll have to ask around and see if any of my friends have one--another great idea!!

I have a REALLY mini one right now, but I'm sure I could always use a big one, especially since I'm always entertaining. Down side to that though is that I'll be tempted to always use it!!!

Even if you havea really mini one, maybe you could get or borrow a second one -- then guests can spread out a little. 2 minis might be more convenient than 1 big!

VERY true!!! I actually just found one that's 'medium' sized and it's only $99! I'm going to check overstock and ebay too, just in case I can find it for cheaper!

EDIT--I just bid on a fondue set on ebay and it's only at $16!! Wish me luck!!

good luck! we have the cuisinart fondue set from BBB (it was $49.99 before 20% off) but we might return it. we did cheese fondue (or tried) and it came out badly and it's just so big for 2 people. we dont entertain often.

we might return it and buy a teeny tiny one...

We should trade! lmao! I have a teeny tiny one but I've YET to use it...it uses a candle to light up....

When did your get your fondue set? Is it big? $50 isn't a bad price...I might have to take a trip to BBB.

We registered for it and got it as one of our first engagement gifts, so maybe in June or July? We used it once and it is sitting in it's box.

It's electric (plugs in and heats up, no actual flame) and after BBB 20% off it's only $40. Go check it out :)

If you have two smaller ones you could always do two different types of chocolate too
