FH and I are debating whether or not to do the chocolate fountain....we really wanted to at first, but now I am worried about where it will go, and will there be a line? I have read many rave reviews on here about it...is anyone doing it or been to a wedding where it has been done? is it worth it...and does it interfere with party time? feedback please!

Re: Chocolate Fountain
I have been. Don't get me wrong, it is a big hit, but IMO it's just for show. It really just tasted like choc. syrup. I jave other personal issues about it after seeing it done. I definitely wanted one, but after seeing it, I have had second thoughts . . . JMO
I still think it is a cool idea and an impressive display!

Re: Chocolate Fountain
are you getting yours from Audrey's bakery...or is your hall providing it? I heard that Audrey's is one of the best...has anyone tried it?

I was debating it too. But ultimately, I think I have decided against it. I don't really like the way it looks. I am sure that it tastes good, but it is kind of ugly. Also, there is so much food at a wedding. At some point, you have to put an end to it.

I was the same way. I was considering it, because it would cheaper than a vienesse hour, but then I figured, there's so much food already, why waste the money?

Re: Chocolate Fountain
I considered it as well but decided against it because I want people to be on the dance floor, and do not want to waste time with people online waiting. It was a tough decision, but thats what FH and I decided.

Re: Chocolate Fountain
I'm having a cocktail reception so I'm not worried about too much food, but what is ugly about it? I never saw one in action so now I'm a little concerned, I don't want it to be gross.
We are going to get one from Audrey's. FH is a chocolate nut and we never heard of them before LIW so I am hoping the guests will be surprised too and that makes one more memorable thing from my wedding.

Re: Chocolate Fountain
I wanted one, but my hall wont allow food from outside except like a cake if I didn't want the one included in my package. Also I think it runs for like $3-5 per person

I have never heard it described as ugly... I am having one as well and when I saw it at the showcase it looked really nice. The fruit display added tons of color and it all tasted delicious. IMO, it's something different that most people haven't experienced at a wedding.
