Chocolate fountain???

Original post by AlliNMatt06

Should I get one?? I called my hall and they offer it for an additional $500. Is it really worth it, will anyone miss it?????

My FFIL thinks I am just blowing my money away, but he thinks that about the whole wedding.

I think it is just a matter of preference....I am having one b/c personally I think it will be very fun, and something a little different. I think it is one of the things that I am most excited about!

I think Villa's charges $8pp and that's just too much for me. And that's before the tax, of course.

My sister used to waitress at Villa Lombardi's and she said the chocolate fountain was totally worth it. It can get really expensive, some places charge too much for it I think. My hall charges $500 too so I am definitely having one! Plus I am a huge chocolate fan.....mmmm....it makes me happy to think about it...LOL.

I really wanted one and was trying to convince FH to get one. However, my hall is giving us a fondue station. I know it's not the same, but I am happy with that.

if you are getting it, ask how long it is out for... we went to a wedding and it was super yummy but it was barely out even a half hour- so 500- or more for about a half hour was not worth it imo

Dumb question here: Do people really need an hour to eat dessert? I know it sounds like a really dumb question, I am just curious.

normally i would say no, but people were dancing and didnt stop to go eat it and then when they wanted to it was gone! dont get me wrong i say go for it ...but i would just ask for it to be out for a bit longer if i were paying so much $$$$ for it to be there...and a round table is a good idea too-

My hall threw it in for free--if not, I definitely wouldnt have spent the money on it. After all of the drinking that will be going on, no one is going to be too hungry for dessert. I honestly think it'd be cool to have, but not missed if it's not there. Spend your money elsewhere...is my opinion...
