Chose photographer/studio & having WORRIES??? ARGHHH.
Hey everyone...relatively new to boards..but currently freaking out over my decision...here's why:
Originally narrowed my favorite photographers down to 3! Chose one based on style, talent, example proof books, recommendation, overall experience of studio and closeness to home.
Only negative, package isn't too inclusive, not too negotiable, pricey....anyway...
Concerning engagement pics, my studio will allow us an in-studio session with one 8x10. I really wanted outdoors and the owner agreed to do that for us. Which was awesome! However, you must buy the pictures you want, from what I understand. They are shown to you slide show style. Great. I really want a set of engagement picturs to have, to own, to constantly look at, etc...it's great to HAVE your pics taken, but having them in your possession to enjoy on a daily basis is different...
So I suggested to my FI to hire Duet to do the engagement shoot and actually HAVE some pictures...he kind of agreed to it , since if we bought our engagement pictures outright it would probably be just as much! However, that stink b/c I rather stick w/ one studio since we'll be spending much money there in the end...
Duet's package was everything we wanted and then some. The owner was very nice to us. So I FM lots of people trying to grasp a feel for their experience w/ Duet. Mostly good, some felt that you had to be VERY VERY specific with what you wanted, some said that they have lots of pictures of people looking away from the camera and not at it, that their choice for background in certain shots were considered.
I gathered that they were hit or miss....
After seeing Julz33's photos I got to thinking....which is not too good after you've made your decision already... I really love the pics that have photojournalism and are natural. Her pictures are exactly what I want in that category.
now for the crazy part....
So now, I recommended to my FI to hire one of the Duet guys as a 2nd camera for the wedding candids. Didn't go over too well... and I know why of course, I just feel that maybe I made a mistake. Did anyone ever feel like that?
