Christening Gift?????

Ladies,
Need your help on what is the best christening gift you received! I'm a Newlywed with no kids attending her first christening in years...

Do I get toys or more of a keepsake present? I was thinking an engraved spoon or something from Tiffanys but, is this something that will ever be used?

Please help!
TIA

what about a bond? I was asking my sister what her kids got for their christenings, she said mostyl $, some picture frames. YOu could get a cross. Sorry for the stinky suggestions. I can't come up with any ideas.

Since you are close, you can get a personalized keepsake. For my son's, other than money & bonds he received: a framed poem, a frame (personalized), a rocking chair w/ his (or really his Father's) favorite sports team on it. & some other cute things.
Do a search for christening gifts, you'll get some ideas.
Oh and you can always try Things Remembered.

kind of wierd to ask and i know it depends on how close you are and how much you can afford but whats a typical amt if you give a bond? Need to pick up 2 today and I dont even know a ballpark.

Well, I usually give a $50.00 bond to extended family members- cost to you only $25.00. For our niece's communion we gave a $100.00 bond and a token gift.

I give bonds, definitely better than the cash for a baby. We usually give a $200 bond to family & close friends. I'd probably give $100 bond for someone not as close.

One gift that I think is really sweet is the International Star Registry - where you can actually purchase a star & name it for them :) One of my sister's friends did this for her when she got married - it's really an impressive gift - they give you the star chart, and tell you how to locate your star, and official certificate and all this other stuff. I think it's about $70 or something like that, but it's definitly a thoughtful gift, and one that lasts forever! here is the link, it's worth a look, I think Good luck, and let us know what you decide on!!
